in that pic, the closeup of the PCI-E graphics shows the CMOS reset jumper on the Asus, right next to the edge card connector.
for people that do a fair amount of OC'ing, that seems like a REAL pain in the wazoo.
how big a deal...
this is looking better & better.
with the asus A8n-VM micro-atx motherboard, a medium power PCI-E video card, good low-latency memory - etc. - i think i can make a real OC-friendly system.
i need to be able to carry it on an airplane.
but not with that power supply, i wouldn't do OC...
well, i REALLY wanted to have 4GB of low-latency Patriot or Corsair in my P5GD2 machine.
it has a 3.6 GHz P4 that i have been running with an 11.1% OC, very stably. running 3D studio Max, mainly.
i had some 3D models that were stalling the machine.

hi
i was just working an organic 3D model (of a spaniel ... hey, gotta draw something), passing solids between 2 3D programs named "One Space Designer" and "Solidworks".

on my main...

the p4c is OC'ed 10% from 3 to 3.3 and the other one is bumped 11.% from 3.6 to 4.0. They have 4 x 512 Mushkin 2-2-2, and 2 x 512 Patriot DDR2, for memory. An AGP 6600 and a PCI-E Asus...
most CAD programs recommend these cards, although the processors on them are not by themselves impressive.
my last job inside corporate america, all the workstations had FireGL cards.
You go to Solidworks website, they suggest FireGL cards.
then you look at the specs - e.g. a 9600 with...
this makes no sense.
but i can only conclude that the DVI connector interface to my samsung and the DVI output (there are 2, with no VGA) on the video card ... are incompatible and should not get married.
i did a search for "LCD monitor DVI connector problems" on the web and newsgroups and...
