i use the XP-120 but have heard a lot of good things about the xp-90...and if you dont care abt noise....coupled with a vantec tornado....its the best air option for ur cpu.
im used to seeing the RAM latency timings as eg. 2.5-3-3-7 1T...they say the last one <1T> is called the command rate and would want to know how i can change this in the bios...i have gone thru mine atleast 10 times but couldnt find it. Im using the DFI LanParty which has the Phoenix Genie bios...
thanks buddy...one thing though..how do i find out how many pins does it have?...cos my mobo is 20 pins....i have my eyes on the sparkle 550 but cant seem to find how many pins...

thanks,
im in a hurry to make this decision cos my PSU just gave up on me. Ok so in a nutshell...all u want in a good PSU is a ... :
1) good make
2) nice Amps coming out of +3.3, +5 and +12
am i right?....cos im basing my decision on just these 2 stats...apart frm the wattage that i need...
no need to be sorry dude...u wont believe im only 1 month into all this stuff...just keep experimenting with it....and ull be fine...just dont over-volt too much without better cooling.
abt the divider...it depends on wht ur BIOS calls it....i have a Phoenix and it has a special RAM config...
divider or FSB:RAM ratio is the frequency at which ur RAM runs compared to the FSB. You have set ur FSB to 239Mhz...so if your divider is set to 1:1...your RAM would also be running at 239Mhz..which it may or may not be able to depending on what's its rated speed. So try to keep it low to find...
yes man....my RAM is memtest stable...im surprised myself...i just ordered the Sparkle 550w PSU (+12v@36A)...hopefully i can push the system further....i dont think the s754 3000+ saturates at 2.2....i hv seen ppl take it higher....so i think i can too...well atleast i shud try.
ill give 9 a...
thanks a lot guys...im about to order one now!!...could you tell me what wattage?....i have 3 hard drives...dvd+rw...cathode..and a whole lot of splitters inside....damn i guess i should have gotten it early!!!!
check my sig for the config.....I have tried everything.....better cooling....now im using an XP-120 with a 3700RPM delta fan pumping in 142CFM.....but the system just wouldnt go beyond 2210Mhz.
..any suggestions...?...could it be the PSU cos i have 400W rt now and 3 hard drives...or is that...
I was wondering what is the safe range for voltages for overclock...rt now its @ 1.6v but I have read that anything below 1.85v is considered do-able with air cooling.
I am using the XP-120.
Thanks.
ok...i hv finally decided on the XP-120..could anyone suggest the best fan for it?....i dont want to use the panaflo....cos its not fast enough for me.
thanks.
rt now i have the fan blowing into the heatsink.
Im confused about my 3000+.... i earlier used cpuz...which showed it as Newcastle...and now tht i got a newer version of it says Clawhammer....so i dunno what it is....
So the XP-120 is the best heatsink to use...with a Panaflo fan...
I have a AMD64 3000+ (Clawhammer) currently running with stock HSF OC'd @ 2.1Ghz (210 x 10, 1.6v Vcore)....my temps are 45c idle and 60c !!! full load (prime 95).....which scares me.
Im looking to overclock more to about 2.4Ghz and i need suggestions for the best (price no bar) heatsink/fan...
