BLOODBORNE - Gamescom gameplay trailer

From Software's notorious frame pacing, 30fps stutter fixed- but only for hacked PS4 consoles

A little over two months ago, coder Illusion released a frame pacing/stutter fix for the From Software games (Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Elden Ring) that suffer from this issue on PlayStation 4 consoles...Eurogamer's Digital Foundry tested Illusion's patch (which only runs on exploited PlayStation 4 consoles running firmware 9.00 or lower) and largely confirmed his findings...

I decided to give this one a go, this game is just too damn good, absolutely love it. When I first booted it up I thought I wouldn’t be able to get into based on how it looked and being limited to 30fps, but I was wrong, having a total blast. It’s definitely unfortunate that this game hasn’t received a proper remaster but it’s still damn good as is.

I would happily pay $90 for a Bloodborne remaster PC release, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this. Sony is leaving money on the table and I don't understand why at this point - it would be one thing if they were making a remaster or new game in series for the PS5, but that seems unlikely at this point.

Yeah this was the game that got me into From games. Currently playing through Elden Ring for first time, and man it is awe inspiring at times. Also, rage inducing lol.

Saw reply to this thread pop-up in my alerts, was hoping for a solid pc port rumor :(.

90$ for a game? just stop lol...

at this point From Software should just focus on a Bloodborne sequel...I'd much rather see Demon's Souls ported to PC (I played Bloodborne on PS4 and DS is the only FromSoft Souls game I have yet to play)

it's been 8.5 years since Bloodborne first came out!

do we know what Bluepoint has been working on? if nothing has been confirmed, or even leaked with any degree of veracity, then i firmly believe they're doing Bloodborne a la the Demon's Souls remake.

They're currently working on an original IP.

I think this is becoming just a matter of spite at this point. Especially with the publicity the emulated version has garnered lately. There have been too many other instances where "maybe THIS is a sign!" turned out to be absolutely nothing.

Maybe signed that they will actually release a remaster or update?
More likely that an easy way to jailbreak both the PS4 and PS5 has been making its rounds on the internet. Since Sony can't really do anything about people posting how to do it they're going after the incentives for doing it instead.

I noticed your location says Colorado, which contains three of the letter 'o'.

Half-Life 3 randomly confirmed in a Bloodborne thread...nice.

Dood! I seen an opossum on groundhog's day...you know what that means? Six more weeks of beer drinking and overeating!!!

*also omg I'm in a console thread...ahhhhh

according to Digital Foundry very little developer intervention would be required to get a game like FromSoftware's Bloodborne to run at native 4K resolution on the PS5 with none of the known frame pacing issues of the vanilla game and even at above 100 FPS at a lower resolution...

This game isn't anything special I like the 1st Boss but that is about it. I finished it in Co-op in the poppy field at the end.

Considering what ShadPS4 can do via emulation and hobbyist-level mods, I feel pretty confident they could do some magic with any kind of real/official update. At this point it's never gonna happen. We might see a remake akin to what we got with Demon's Souls, but they aren't going to do anything with an 11 year old game now.

I still can't believe Bloodborne is the only From game that never received a "next gen" update when it is arguably the one that needs it most. Just give us 60 FPS FFS.

It never even got a PS4 Pro patch. If it had, that would have been significant at least for the PS5 to run that even better at max resolution and frame rate if it was running DRS and an unlocked frame rate.

For whatever reason, From Software seem to be actively resisting any further development of this game. Recently I think I saw that they rejected/blocked Bluepoint from remastering the game or something like that way before Sony closed them down.

From Software is the one developer that got me to buy a console (PS4)...they are literally the only one I would do that for...if they come out with a PS6 exclusive I'll buy a PS6...they are the undisputed best developer in gaming...hopefully they remain free of outside influences and continue to make the games they want

This is now a thing. It's worth noting that it still requires the Playstation 4 ROM (1.09 no less) and it's still a little rough around the edges with no KB/M and initial shader compilation stutters. Still, it's cleaner and easier than BB Launcher/Shad. After some pretty impressive homegrown PC ports, like the killer Gears 2 one, this is pretty bare bones and stripped down.

I played around with it some more and it's probably worth noting that 120fps seems to break running. You'll see your character moving their legs, but it's like they're stuck in mud and moving slower than their normal walking speed. Plus, at least on my machine the fps seem to bounce all around 119, but aren't steady. It don't make for a particularly smooth experience. Hard locking it to 90fps doesn't affect being able to run and it looks/runs smoother, too.
Maybe this will see some updates in the future that fix some things, maybe not. I dunno.

EDIT: There was an update this morning that added online play via Shad's online system. The more I tinker around with it the more I don't really consider this to be a real port. It's mostly a sexier spin on BB Launcher's concept. That's still a good thing, but it's less impressive than it initially seems. To keep it safe/legal, they're treating it like a single-game emulator.
