The [H]ardForum Perpetual Freebies Thread

I just read on a serve the home forum in a thread about the Dell 5070 where someone was running into a similar problem with a drive not performing correctly and a higher wattage power supply did solve the problem. I think you're on the right track.

One place I have found power supplies cheap is a local goodwill. They were selling for only a dollar or two.
This is good news to hear! My clock speeds are also all over the place. I disabled VT-D and did everything I could to make sure the low wattage Intel CPU was set to run at "full throttle at all times", yet clock speeds are bouncing all over the place from 2.8GHz to 3.2GHz.

VT-d really shouldn't effect that - you want to disable all efficiency/power management/clock speed spin down/'green' etc features in the bios if you want it running full throttle all the time (some green stuff like erp only deal with when it's off/in standby so those type of things fine to stay on)

Older memory that i no longer have use for maybe someone can use them. DDR and DDR2.

A family member is in need of an unmanaged, eight-port gigabit ethernet switch. (Just posting here while I verify. I would be able to pay for shipping later this week.)

There is also a metal case TP-Link for $20(sometimes $15 when on sale). I usually keep one around just in case. I have never had any issues with TP-Link switches or Netgear for that matter.

No longer available. Had been gone for awhile now.

I can look but for the price of those on Amazon, it’s going to be hard for a forum member to ship one for much less than those. Shipping costs have ruined a lot of freebies and deals lately.

I had an unmanaged netgear 5 port one die. But it spent 5ish years smushed between a wall and a filing cabinet near a heater vent and the last 3 years of its life with the cord held together with tape when I accidently cut it in half. Id say they are well worth it. No issues with the TPlink one that replaced it and would have gone netgear but I wanted to match my router brand

What's crazy is that on ebay a lot of times you can find stuff even cheaper than shipping, like this one:

That is an auction though, however I doubt that it is going to "hot" item so only people who know what it is and has that specific want for one will bid on it/

Shot in the dark here but figured I'd ask... Years ago I had a couple of MATX builds in the Antec NSK3480 and Cooler Master Elite 341. Does anyone have either of these older micro tower cases in their collection that they might want to get rid of? Happy to pay shipping plus a bit extra for the trouble.

I was trying to find an old Thermaltake Snow with the handle and removeable drives for a long time with no luck. I hope it works out for you.

I'm looking for Legacy Seasonic modular power supply cables - specifically the 4+4 / 8 pin CPU cable. Anyone still have any spares?

I only have one, but I'm looking for a second Seasonic legacy modular CPU cable if anyone out there has one. For example, it can look like this with the marking xE03
