You wanted a poof, you got a poof. You were warned repeatedly that it might not be what you want.
You're always taking your chances with that kind of request. I got saddled with "touched in the head by an angel" on another forum by taunting the author of Discourse.

But you know what that is one of the things that keep this place interesting... You have definitely added a lot of character to this place over the decades and it probably would have died out many of years ago if you didn't somehow enjoy putting up with a bunch of....I was going to say geeks but I think we are turning into the equivalent of a tech nursing home. Is the avg age now over 40?

Also we all learned to never quote you during the holidays drunk posted pick your poof threads as it's a trap

Hmmm, I see two plugs and one receptacle, and the burns don't line up.

I'm not trying to deny anything, but I see two plugs and one receptacle, and nothing is aligning.
The male connector he is holding with his thumb is upside down to the card. The 2 burnt male connectors on the bottom correspond to the top 2 female connectors on the card.

The other male connector goes to the PS-YOU

Dear erek , when you take a photo, most devices support quickly previewing the photo. This allows you to check if your photo is in focus. You can tell if your photo is not in focus because the object of interest is a blurry mess. This gives you the chance to quickly retake the photo so that it's in focus. 👍

"PNY Denied Warranty To An RTX 5090 Owner Because Dead GPU Wasn’t Used With Company-Approved 12VHPWR Power Cable Or Adapter"

This kind of stuff makes me think all these companies hate their customers. PNY knows the connector is marginal. They also know the connector is easy and pretty cheap to replace - this is something the company should fix out of good will, especially with the margin they have made on the card.

Another thing Pepperidge Farms remembers is video cards used to have lifetime warranties.

Use the macro option...

did anyone besides BFG do lifetime warranties?

"Lian Li Debuts Edge Hub Adv With Automatic Shutdown for 12v-2×6 Cable Thermal Events

by Cpt.Jank Today, 19:21 Discuss (4 Comments)
There is no shortage of horror stories about misbehaving 12v-2×6 power connector issues, whether they be on AMD Radeon or on NVIDIA GPUs. The ongoing issues with the GPU connector have prompted manufacturers of other PC gaming hardware to come up with solutions, like ASUS's ROG Equalizer, Cooler Master's GPU Shield technology, or ASRock's protected, right-angled 12-2×12 cable. The latest to join the GPU power race with active protection is Lian Li, except it does things a little differently.

The Lian Li Edge Hub Adv is the latest iteration of the brand's USB-controlled fan hub, and the new model includes two sensor ports for temperature sensing using NTC (negative temperature coefficient) sensors built into an included 650 mm 12v-2×6 GPU power cable. The power cable connects the GPU to the PSU, and the NTC cable plugs directly into the Lian Li Edge Hub Adv, which connects to Lian Li's L-Connect 3 monitoring software on Windows. By default, L-Connect is set up to monitor the temperature of the NTC sensor and start an emergency shut-down once the connector temperature reaches a certain threshold. In addition to an on-screen pop-up alerting the user to an imminent shutdown and giving them the chance to trigger the shutdown manually instead, Lian Li will also send the user an email when a shutdown is triggered by a misbehaving GPU power connector."

Gotta make that kitten purr.

I started getting some random black screen issues (sound continuing but no picture) with my PC after a couple of years and after troubleshooting I decided to check the connectors for my 4090.
Is this an early stage of melting on the cable side male connector? The plastic looks a bit affected around the opening.”

GPUs deserve a new connector that can handle much greater current, and a sacrificial pigtail to the standard. Get that point of failure offboard. Consider soldered pigtail if repairing. Sofa Kingdom.
