Yesterday, our team took the #20 spot in WCG team world ranking per both Free-DC and BOINCstats. (psst we passed DPC team). This is our best performance thus far. 👍

As a reference, we started at #25 during the start of this year.

It will get exponentially harder from here on. 🙏

Yes, we need all the GPU's not being gamed on to run WCG work units which obviously will require a complex setup for the novices.
 
Nice on the team overtake.

I finally hit 5 years on OpenPandemics runtime. Had to focus on it exclusively lately to do so as otherwise it's very rare that I get any OPN work units. I typically don't follow my stats closely but when I did look and it was always really short of 5 years I had to go exclusive to finally get over the 5 year hump.
 
Today, we overtake SG for #18 spot in world team ranking. Keep it up [H]ordes!

We should easily overtake Elon Musk's SpaceX team ;)

Overtook LAF team this morning. Now at #16 spot in team world ranking.

We should be able to climb two more spots by end of Sun or early Mon. That will bring us to #14 spot.

Well, after 8+ years of contribution to WCG, I manage to sneak into the top 100 point contributors per free-DC stat. The gpu OPNG tasks certainly help to achieve this goal quickly. With cpu tasks, it will take a long long time, lol.
 
I think something is off with the stats. I had previously hit 100 million points but now both BOINCStats and Free-DC are showing less. I'm guessing WCG borked a stats export

Nevermind...I was thinking the stats had updated back in Feb. Apparently WCG still hasn't updated since like August of last year.

As I read somewhere, WCG is not posting stats until stability acheived. They appear to be making a big change now. Will they finally get it working properly? Maybe soon.

Did they change up how they handle badges or is this just another goof on their part? 31 years run time does not equal a 50 year badge. 143 years run time does not equal a 200 year badge.... And it looks like this all the way down the list. The only one not doing it is Smash Childhood Cancer.

I have same issue. Though crunched ~81 years of MCM's they awarded me a 100 year badge. Yet another problem with WCG :(
 
When OPNG gpu project was active, I was crunching hard. Just a miserable 124 years of total WCG running time for roughly 2.46M WCG credits across a dozen sub-projects. That's called efficiency ;)
Last result returned was 5/18/2025 and yes that coincides with the ending of BOINC pentathlon 2025. Just waiting for the WCG to stabilize first.

Sorry...those days are probably over. I used to have a ton of boxes all over. Before I was married, I had 2 garages, 3 bedrooms, and half the living room full of computer hardware. Almost all of it was old castoffs too. I've downsized quite a bit and with WCG being in the terrible shape it is in, I have no incentive to dump thousands a month in electricity on it.

And yes....in regards to deals... most selling cheap systems have scrapped out the RAM and SSD's for the AI boom.

Yes although I believe the missing 256GB SSD is most likely due to security protocol. Suppose they could use CXL to expand DDR 5 system with DDR 4, but 2400MT ehh probably just hurried nothink reselling. I hope BOINC attracts more attention so more biological projects startup besides Mapping Cancer Markers, Arthritis Markers, Sidock. Sad to see
