What do you think took place in the BEATING HEART OF 1980?

MIAMI VICE. What do you think is one of the things that VICE CITY draws from? Who do you think they based the Jason outfit off?

Maybe Sonny Crockett?

Do you think the logo just randomly stumbled on these colors? How about the character designs? Do you think these were all just totally on the whim of some designer FOURTY YEARS AGO and everyone just rolled with the punches?

Who do you think Lucia is based off in the pictures? Are you going to tell me you have no idea how Scarface could be a reference to Miami?

Do you think the bisexual cabal has been working behind the scenes to drag this color palette into public eyes without us more pedestrian straights noticing and actual Miami was a hallucinated fever dream that didn't really exist?

Or MAYBE this game, like their game from almost a quarter century ago, pays tribute to a certain time period?

I thought that was pretty obvious from the photo shown but that doesn't dispute the point that games and movies have favored certain lighting and colors in the past 10-15 years. See blue and orange dominating movie posters for years now. Many games favor purple colors which is often considered the color of royalty.

Looks like I will wait on this one. Locking in-game stores behind a $100 purchase is lame as is, and I'm certainly not paying that for a console version.

My willingness to buy the PS5 version entirely rests on the FPS. If it's nothing but 30fps, I'm out. If it's unlocked and pushing at least 45fps or if there's a performance mode, I'm in. Simple as that. I'm not playing anything that's only 30fps ever again.

Nothing official, probably 6-12 months. The GTA+ thing is amusing, pushing subscriptions for online benefits. Maybe they will have learned from RDR2's gated content that could be bypassed with real money. In GTA5 its mostly fomo though Rockstar took out original cars to put them in their sub service unless you already owned those cars with their online character.

$80-100 is expected pricing.

I'll wait for PC to have better graphics, fps, and mods. Never cared much about online play. All the gated content will be bypassed by cracks. (For offline play anyway)

You don't care much for paying for games either, it seems.

Does that offend you? I pay for games sometimes. Don't plan on buying this one in particular but I will try it to see if it lives up to the hype.

Nothing has killed my GTA 6 hype faster than locking a core part of its identity behind a $20 upgrade

As far as we know, there are currently five stores that are paywalled: Two mod shops, a clothing store, a salon, and a tattoo parlour...all offering customisation options that, at this point, I deem an integral part of this series' identity...it feels criminal that a game touting itself as the "most immersive GTA experience yet" has the very real potential to constantly pull me out of that immersion by reminding me that I've yet to spend an extra 20 bones any time I get within the vicinity of these 'premium' stores

the pre-order page also lists "action" as something reserved for the Ultimate Edition buyers

What that looks like isn't totally clear right now—at the very least, it seems to be referring to a series of side missions called PTT Youngin$ Compound and Scores, where you'll raid this gang's store for contraband and special items...this stuff used to be in the game for no additional cost, guys!...

Paying for games used to mean getting access to all in-game content, esp. in single player.

In a different timeline we still have Harambe and Oblivion never tried Horse Armor

But here we are

And that shit is going to make them millions upon millions

Read more. It became a thing in the 2010s.

Muh "media literacy.". In my experience the people who use this phrase are ironically the most media illiterate.

For a company that made billions off its previous title, you'd think they'd be less stingy about a couple in game shops.

Wait until you find out the 1970-1980s (and Miami, which just so happens to really exist) and the resultant asthetic and literal media references predate 2010.

I still can't believe it's not releasing as an XBOX Play Anywhere title. I'm not going to get stuck with the crap version like they did to us with GTA V and only having the launch versions on the XBOX 360 and PS3, I'll just wait it out.

I mean you can justify not paying for games all you want. Me paying for games allows the games people aren't paying for to exist. If we all did what you do, there'd be no games. Do I agree with your sentiment? Of course ... but that isn't the point.

"Renting" the game to see if it sucks or not is fine. The two hour Steam trial window kind of sucks. Straight up pirating the game though is a little on the gay side, which is fine if you're into that.

Its not going to be 79.99 that is the typical price for indi and AAA AA games. I'll eat all my bad grammar and typos if it's 79.99.

official pricing was announced earlier today...$79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition

Interesting, did not know that. I did notice the colors in some games in the past just did not know it was intentional. For GTA6 I do think they are trying to do a bit of a minor through back to the 80s Miami looked like in Miami Vice as noted above, but for the other games mentioned I certainly believe they went with that color tone for "bisexual lighting" intentionally. But I do think GTA6 will be watered down a bit regardless, they were already censoring older games. If they doing that to older games I expect the humor to have more restraints in their new ones.

$80 + some extra locked content is a shame. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. I am sure it will sell great regardless but I think sales can be softer than expected. Rockstar might be getting a bit too greedy and it may result in slightly slower sales than expected.

Back to the GTA+ thing… does this actually mean that to play GTA online on PlayStation you have to pay for a PlayStation+ subscription AND a GTA+ subscription on top of the already inflated price of entry?

gta+ is their game pass thing, it already exists. but probably.

I mean you can justify not paying for games all you want.
Not paying for games that view you as a cash cow and want to lock basic features behind paywalls is very justified. The fact that it still happens means not enough people are voting with their wallets against it.
Me paying for games allows the games people aren't paying for to exist.
Main character syndrome?

If we all did what you do, there'd be no games.
What do you think I do besides not buying into a bad deal? If I don't pay for an overpriced TV lacking basic features there will be no more TVs? Of course not.

I'm sick of this idea that we must view game development as a charity. They need to earn the purchase just like any other goods or services.

In your mind, yes.

Main character syndrome?
You're kidding, right?

In your mind, yes.
In my mind what? Are you suggesting that I must buy things regardless of the price or whether I think they are a good deal?
You're kidding, right?
You literally said your purchases make it possible for games people aren't buying to exist.

And to add to that, maybe games that people aren't buying shouldn't exist, didn't you think of that?
It's a simple analogy. Tell me what's confusing you about it and I'll help you understand it.
Keep on justifying stealing things.
Not buying = Stealing? Is that your base premise? No wonder everything you derive from that is wrong.
