Pragmata

It's good the only fight I liked was the Boss Battle the problem is immersion isn't there it's ok but it doesn't compare to Cronos a New Dawn or Dead Space. Instead of despair you got this girl talking to you about how good this game is. I know for a fact I rather save my money for something else the price is just silly. The Surge is alot more fun Surge 2 is awesome.

I tried playing the demo and it just wasn't for me. I can imagine some people will really like it, though. I'm glad there's a demo so you can get a feel for it. It sounds like something I'd probably like on paper.

The only thing I'm really concerned about is the playtime. 8 - 12 hours of gameplay time seems short for $48 but then again, RE9 was around that length and they charged $70

Agreed- they get some points from me for having a demo no matter what.

I am find with length. I don't need a 100 hour open world games pack with boring repetitive content.

This, plus when people say that they rush through it. I wonder if they do the same with large open world games, which invalidates the purpose of large open spaces if you just rush through it. Take RE9 for example, people claimed it would take 9 hours to complete. For me it was around 15. If they are claiming 12 hours, I assume 16-18 for a thorough first play for Pragmata.

If I really enjoy a shorter game, I'll play through it 2-3 times. Especially if there are additional NG+ modes and whatnot. Plus, like Flogger mentioned, I find that people tend to get hyperbolic with how short/long games are. It's super rare I complete anything in under 15 hours.

I'm locked in.

Honestly, I'll play it just for their implementation of DXR and how good it looks.

Wow Steam really likes this game Overwhelming Positive I suppose I have to buy it to experience it.
I don't think I'll get anything out of it.

The dynamic sort of reminds me of the Little Sister/Big Daddy thing in Bioshock somewhat. Also a little bit like Bioshock Infinite but with a lot older companion.

Here are my thoughts thus far:
  • It's Capcom, so it's another well produced AAA title. Coming right on the heels of a banger that is RE9. The engine runs smooth and the graphics are maybe a notch better than RE9. In an era of slop, this kind of quality stands out.
  • It's got an old school arcade feel to it. Almost a Nintendo feel to it. Some people are craving for a fast-paced button masher mixed with some platformer puzzles.
  • The story is wholesome enough that it can be recommended for kids. That opens up to a wider audience. You're killing robots not people, so hardly any blood or gore in the game. And what disturbing parts it has are pale in comparison to many other games. There's hardly any foul language, nothing you wouldn't hear on daytime TV.
  • The voice acting is pretty good. Lots of dad jokes and cutesy Diana quips, if you're into that.
Unlike RE9, I think Pragmata appeals to a wider audience. The Hugh and Diana dynamic is often referred to as "Dad Space".

The story is a bit anime to me, but it's not an awful cringy story. If you view Diana as an actual girl, I can see where the story will tug on some heart strings. This game is almost like a psychological test to see how people react to an android that imitates a girl a bit too well. Well played, Capcom. Well played.

Ultimately, you either like the game loop or you don't. You hack, then shoot, then dodge. Wash, rinse, repeat. It's 80% of the game and I think that's the hard sell here. The out-of-combat puzzles are just an interlude. The game is not that difficult. I've seen tougher puzzles in the modern Zelda games.

It's not a bad game, but not really my cup of tea. Visuals are great and probably a younger me would have enjoyed it more.

and theyre trying to spin it as if dudes enjoying it are pdfs... projection id assume.
Not really...the subreddit was rife with pedo talk and weird-ass art way before launch. They had to spin off into a separate subreddit for people who actually wanted to talk about the game.

As expected the game length if you do the side quests and whatnot seems to be averaging around 15 or so hours. It will go up in time as the people who tend to review their play time quickly tend to be quicker. But this looks like it will be a 15-17 hour game. Still short, but if you do everything it should be a whole lot longer than 8 hours.

Capcom's Pragmata Is Making People Want to Start a Family and Nobody Saw That Coming

Capcom's Pragmata has been doing something unexpected to players: making them cry and then immediately reconsider their life plans.

The game puts you in the role of Hugh, a soldier stranded on a ruined lunar research station tasked with protecting Diana, a child-like android, while fighting rogue AI to find a way home. In one emotional moment, Diana gives Hugh a crayon drawing of the two of them together as a little family.

Streamers who opened their streams saying they do not like kids are ending their sessions in happy tears. Players are openly admitting the game made them want children of their own.

A lunar survival game about a soldier and a robot child is apparently the most effective family planning content released in years. Capcom did not announce this as a feature.

I shouldn't be surprised since its reddit but some of the crazy things said are just insane projections. Sometimes a game is just a game.
It's so exhausting we can't even have a story-driven game these days without some "journalists" or terminally-online groups finding something problematic about everything.

I'm hoping someone sells a game code from the GPU bundle online soon so I can pick this up soon though. Not sure if I'll even be able to redeem it though since that's how I bought RE9 and activated it with my 5080.
