Do you play single-player games more or multiplayer?

Which kind of games do you play more?

I play both, not equally tho. I have been playing a lot of single players and only recently started to do more multiplayer games with friends, such as Icarus, Vein, and Star Citizen.

I play multiplayer more, mainly due to MMORPG titles, street fighter games, and battlefield (counter strike back in the day too!). I do play a fair amount of singleplayer as well.

depends how you define multiplayer...I love From Software games like Dark Souls, Elden Ring etc...they all have multiplayer elements such as PvP invasions, summoning help, player messages in-game etc

pure Multiplayer games like Battlefield I do not like

I like multiplayer games because people make the experience different every time. I also just enjoy messing with people or making their day and that isn't something you can do in a single player game.

I don't play single player games unless they offer gameplay with extreme creativity.

Been playing video games for roughly 30 years. Maybe slightly longer. Most of my life has been playing single player with the odd split screen titles or 2 players on NES. Or at the arcade.

Short period of my teenage hood and young adult, I would play multi-player.

Now I'm older, fatter and out of shape. Got kids. Gone back to single player games. Funny enough, aside from some titles like expedition 33 or maybe cyberpunk 2077, I mostly go back to play some old games I never finished - banjo amd Kazooie, parasite eve, dark cloud, legend of Legia, legend of dragoon, etc and have way more fun with them.

Only multi-player game I'll play is palworld to play with my kids.

About equal. For multiplayer I like games that can be quick to get into, some FPS like Battlefield. For single player I do either story driven action games (of various genres) or simulator/military types games, typically things like DCS, ArmA, or gameplay focused games like SWAT 4, Ready or Not.

I used to play primarily SP games with MP every now and then but in the past 15 or so years I have been playing primarily MP games.

Single player fo sure and only ones with offline or skirmish mods.

I only ever played 2 video games online

Star Trek Armada 2 ( Sins of a Solar empire full conversion MOD now)
and
ya'll can guess the other one.

:p

Despite playing semi-competitive FPS for a decade, I just don't do multiplayer much anymore aside from occasional games with my friends. The last game I played casually online was the original Titanfall.

Used to play BC2 like it was my job, but I've played mostly single player games for the last five years., except LAN parties every few months.

I had fun playing multi-player games back when lan parties were a thing. Nothing played online is fun for me. I suck at them, but it was still fun drinking and shit talking friends as I was getting my butt kicked. Haha.
Man I miss this, used to play party games (like Mario Party type, 4-8 player local games) all the time in college with my friends in person. Now that has been replaced with friendslop, but I can't stand friendslop. Seriously I straight up hate friendslop games, I can't get into them but that is all most of them play now.

My favorite type of multiplayer games are the local ones that are slightly competitive, if somebody is sweating too hard have them take some shots to even the playing field, here are some recommendations: Lethal League, Pummel Party, Overcooked, Lance A Lot, Speedrunners, Gauntlet, Rounds

Never really got to do proper LAN parties. I think I would have enjoyed playing unreal tournament on LAN with people. My college actually had a LAN club that hosted 4 a year, but it was just awkward for the most part... people would bring their set ups to show off basically and then just sit in Discord next to eachother with their headsets on doing their own things.

It's one of the great ironies of our age. Social media has made us unsocial.

I used to play a lot of both. Now my growing disdain for interacting with humanity has steered me away from a lot of online and multiplayer experiences. I will play co-op games with friends or people I know in real life but that's about as far as I go these days. I can also handle non-PvP oriented games where I can ignore everyone else. I just play those by myself. The First Descendant for example, I occasionally play with a friend but I mostly solo it.

I play more single player stuff now mostly due to with having a kid I may have to just get up from the game randomly so that doesn't lend itself well to group matches or whatever. I need pause button in my life haha.

Does playing a multiplayer game like Apex Legends with all bots count as single-player or multiplayer?

Anti social multi player. Or multi player training camp. 😂

I used to do all bot counter strike and ut a bit before lan parties to get practice in so I wouldn't loose sooo bad. While not technically multi-player, I think the experience is nearly the same.

COD - Cause of Death

NPC - Not particularly cognizance

BOT - Beta Observation testing

TOS - Terms of Suffering

EULA - End User Listing Assignments

I would actually like to see more options like this. I know it is a lot of extra work for devs for a niche, but still. Sometimes i just need senseless carnage in like COD with bots sitting on the couch like a cooked shrimp with a beer lol.

Where you can set the difficulty to like just above 0 so you can feel like a boss when you are done. 😂

These days I also like exploring other forms of entertainment online when I have free time, like reading about online casinos and how their bonuses work. For example, I found this site that explains the different offers clearly: casino en ligne belgique bonus and It’s actually interesting to see how promotions are structured and what makes them safe or worth checking out, much like finding hidden gems in older games.
I can relate to that. Single-player games are much easier to enjoy now that life is busier, and it’s nice to revisit older titles you never finished. I’ve been going back to games like Final Fantasy IX, Dragon Quest III HD-2D, and some of the classic Tomb Raider entries, and they still hold up really well. For multiplayer, I only play occasionally with friends or family, like Rocket League or co-op games. Playing Palworld with your kids sounds great, it’s the kind of multiplayer experience that’s really meaningful and fun without the stress of competitive online play.

I used to play more multiplayer when younger (Counter-Strike mainly at that) but even then it was maybe like 66% single 33% multi and now it's like 85% single 15% multi

I play a mix of both. If it is MP or SP depends a lot on which games are out. My main genres are FPS, driving games, story based 3rd person, some open world and RPGs. There usually only a few titles each year that interest me so I typically buy 5-10 games a year. If something really good just came out then I am mostly playing SP, but otherwise I will load up MP games just as much as SP if not more.

My favorite genre is first person based games with shooting and curated levels. Like Doom series, Deus Ex series, the good CoD entries, older Halo titles etc. Most SP FPS games are fairly short, so they usually only last 1-3 weeks, sometimes less. This also applies to most 3rd person games. Even long ones with good replayability, like the Dooms series only gets me 20-40 hours before I am done. MP is the only way to extend the FPS playtime and it is also a lot of fun to play team games when people on the server understand how the game works.

When I start games like Cyberpunk 2077, RDR2, Clair Obscure etc. then it is mainly SP for a few months, but it is rare that a SP game has me hooked enough for me to spend much more then 60 hours in it. I usually lose interest in SP games after 30-40 hours, put it away for a few months or years and maybe finish it later. If I add up all the hours available to me in SP games, then it would probably 150 hours in a good year and 250 in a great year, but the average year has 100 hours or less.

Single player because the industry decided to kill map editors which means that you're forced to play the same handful of maps over and over again in multiplayer games.

On the one hand, I only ever played office or dust2 in CS, or only 2fort in TF2 - like so many, when playing 'official'/'officially' so I think 'how much does that really matter'

On the other hand, (in regards to CS mainly) there was also zombie mode, and 'ratz' maps (in that mode and out of) etc - which I also played a lot when not playing 'officially'
