A collection of 4 games remastered. It looks like genuine effort was put into this one instead of just packaging them with an emulator. Proper widescreen support, upscaling, and frame timing for each game. Animated cutscenes have also been added. The collection comes out on Sonic's 31st anniversary June 23.

Hmmm. might be better than figuring out what I need to get my Genesis to work and find decent copies of the games, plus maybe it'll be a little easier. I could never actually make it through scrap brain zone, and it's not like I could get all the Chaos Emeralds anyway.

Nope. They're pulling this crap.

I'm just gonna wait for it to go on sale with all DLC (what the fuck) for $20ish.
Probably won't take too long, sonic games get discounted pretty fast.

Well, are they finally replacing the emulator they used with something with lower input lag?

https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSw...ust_spent_8_on_sonic_2_ages_to_prove_how_bad/

Otherwise, I don't see why this is wroth the cash; I did the exact same test using Sonic 2 on PC, and the input lag is indescribably bad (so, they are porting the same shitfest to multiple platforms to keep "consistency"?)
As said in the OP, they're not running on an emulator in this release.

Horseshit.

You can already find widescreen emulators under Retroarch.

SO, until someone actually measures the input lag, there is no way this guaranteed to be a "equivalent to native" game ( but if they are using Retroarch, then it will likely be better timings than the bodge job they did themselves!)

Still not worth 40 bucks, when I've already got Retroarh on my HtPC!

So, you suddenly trust these idiots to purt Decompiled code, add a bunch of pointless new features, an not break things?

Have you not seen most indie release-day bug-fests?

I’ll probably buy this on Xbox. My son is such a Sonic fan, and even though I’ve got this:

If he decides he wants to switch up from Colors, Forces, Frontiers, or Mania to play the old ones, it will be a lot easier from the same console than hooking up the Analogue when I’m at work.
