Final Fantasy XV director and Luminous Productions COO and head of studio Hajime Tabata has announced that he has left Square Enix. As a result of this shakeup at the studio, 3 of the 4 upcoming DLC for the game have been canceled. Fans will still get Episode of Ardyn DLC in March 2019, new Comrades multiplayer content, and a collaboration between Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XV is still on the schedule. DSO Gaming thinks features such as NVIDIA RTX DLSS support, Vulkan API, and mod tools are in jeopardy. Yesterday Square Enix announced financial losses for 2018 and a worrying outlook for early 2019.
It's almost going to be two whole years since the release of Final Fantasy XV. I honestly believe the reason we were able to get this far is because of all you loyal fans. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Today, I have a personal announcement to make to all of you. I, Hajime Tabata, will be resigning from Luminous Productions and the Square Enix Group... I was able to gain so much experience with my time at Square Enix. Every title I was able to be a part of means a lot to me.
