So when should we start hearing about the BF deals? I'm specifically looking for a 1060 6gb/RX 580 8gb, 500gb m.2 SSD and a 5TB or higher capacity HD.

What stores typically do you all see discounts for those components?

Obviously BB, Target and the like will have all manner of electronics but is it the usual online retailers like Newegg and Amazon that I'll have the best chance to get PC components?

BF prices on video cards, RAM and SSDs are going to be pretty weak I am sure, since the price on that stuff has been ridonkulous since the year started. Might see some of that stuff down to pre-price-jacked prices. I have everything I currently need unless I see a great deal on a gaming mouse/keyboard/headset.

Black Friday has been a bust for the last 3 or 4 years. I remember shopping last year and all of the stores still had stacks of the "doorbuster" items left at noon or later. I saw a great deal on a 65in tv at Sams the next day.

If I recall correctly, black friday last year I was able to get a set of Crucial DDR4 2400 2x8GB for $55. The same kit of RAM was normally around $80, and then climbed all the way up to $110 before leveling out. I still don't think you can find it that cheap now.

I got a 960gb SSD for $200 around that time last year. I'm not expecting great deals on the components I listed but I want better value than current prices.

2015 I picked up some 4TB HGST drives for $88 a pop from Fry's, but had to spend a lot of time refreshing the website and had three different accounts to get enough. Nothing worth my time last year though.

You mean black friday month... I don't have subscription TV but I assume they're about to start the pre black friday ads if they haven't already. Local food lion already has xmas shit out.

There are usually good deals on TVs.computer hardware not so much. Expects ads to slowly break now until the week before bf.

Ah, yes, the time of year when I especially wish each Walmart location was a spaceship able to depart to the deepest reaches of space 15 minutes after the doors open.

Maybe Cyber Monday will have something this year, but I won't count on that either.

I am enjoying my $110 MX300 750GB SSD. Wish I had bought more, considering the prices we have now. I hope I can snag a similar deal on an SSD and HDD this year.

Im sure there will be all kinds of "great deals" on computer hardware like previous years.

Nvidia GTX 1070 - $179.... after 7 mail in rebates, 5 of which you will never hear back from.

Hoping for some kind of PS4 Pro deal/bundle, but we'll see. Usually BF is pretty disappointing anymore with most things being online these days.

I'm keeping an eye on PS4 Pro sales happening right before the Xbone X launch. Should be good. I still haven't played Horizon and looking forward to it.

I need a new mini fridge for my beer. It died during Hurricane Harvey.

I bought one of these for my cousin. I built him an entire PC and the SSD was the only thing I purchased for it on black friday.

The only deals on BF is on garbage. idk how people still get excited and think they will find some insane deal. The few decent deals get sold out instantly. Just not worth the effort with all the insane people out there.

Only if you don't do your research.. hell my TV was a 50 dollar bf deal and has served me well over the last 9 years but sadly the technology creep has caught up to it so it's time for another bf replacement.

That was 9 years ago.. and was it some no name TV? BF was great 10+ years ago but not these days.

yeah it's just a renamed toshiba even though it was identical to their flagship tv at the time so everyone ignored it. but that was just an example, i buy stuff every black friday but usually from local/regional stores that have way better sales than nationwide stores/online these days. i think the biggest problem with black friday these days though is that we've gotten so use to having "sales" year around that black friday has sort of lost it's significance. before the online buying craze started black friday was pretty much the one day of the year where sales happened, up til that day every year it was usually just nickle and dime type sales..

Stores buy specific items (cheap garbage) just for their black friday sales now.

You can get lucky, the Target where I used to live would substitute TVs. Once the cheap no name brand 40" TV sold out they would substitute almost any 40" TV they had for the same price. I haven't bought a TV in 8 years though so I never got in on that deal. My 32" Vizio and 47" Sharp still work like new and I don't see the point in replacing them.

I used do free after rebate HDD enclosures back when it was common for me to replace HDDs with SSD in laptops for people. Now they all come with SSDs in the first place.

This year the only thing I'm looking for is maybe a bigger micro sd for my phone.

Another thing I've noticed is some items will go on sale again before Christmas for the Black Friday price or even lower. This happened with video games from Best Buy. Best Buy won't give the GCU discount on Black Friday so it's best to wait.

That just doesn't happen anymore. Once the stock of 2 garbage tv they advertise the hell out of for cheap the deal is dead. It is just a scan to get people in the store to buy the other junk. I can't believe people camp out up to week before to get this garbage.

Do you think the deals will be better on Cyber Monday? Last year Black Friday was a bust.

Only thing I'm wanting is an OLED TV, anyone think there will be some deals on one?

lolno. Only TVs that get any kind of deal on black Friday are the cheap junk. The best time to actually buy a good TV is around March when the new models come out and they trying to dump off last year models.

No. In my experience Cyber Monday is an illusion. Just an excuse to have a sale. But I never see anything earth shaking. Some places will still have leftover Black Friday prices.

Did everyone buy one of those puppies? It was 150 CAD shipped here and an awesome deal.

Well there are probably some 2016s still laying around, maybe those will be offloaded with a nice deal. I thought I remembered a deal on some last year.

Not likely by now. I was trying to get a Samsung KS8000 when they discontinued them over the summer and couldn't find one anywhere and I jumped on it as soon as it was announced. 55" KS8000 for $900 was such a steal too but couldn't find one.

Costco is going to have the Samsung 6290 40" HDTV for $299 again before Black Friday. Makes a nice, cheap, 4k Monitor.

There are endless threads on this in the Display forum.

Picked up one last year and will probably buy another one for the work computer this time.

Any tips on places to find hardware on Black Friday?

Sign up for eBay bucks. They run 8% off coupons fairly regularly. I know of no greater discount that is reliable and regular.

I buy from trusted eBay stores like Newegg’s eBay store at 8% less than buying from neweggg directly.

Every 2 weeks or month, they’ll run the promotion for a couple days.

Thanks! I will do that.

Does anyone subscribe to newsletters from brands such as EVGA , Corsair, or Seasonic?

Lol I got the ring doorbell and August smart lock off Best Buy’s early BF deals. Waiting on a deal for the ecobee 4.
