Player unknown Battlegrounds

After this last patch I get a solid 60+ FPS with everything maxed. But I keep my settings all on very low (except view distance and AA). To me its easier to see people on very low.

What resolution?

I play in 4k, 60fps no probs, with 4.8ghz 7700k and 1080 gtx ti

Just bought it this past wknd because a friend kept telling me too. Game is serious fun.

I have not played with squads yet, played about 14 rounds all solo. The last big batch broke it for me so waiting for some drivers or something to fix it up.

Anywho lone wolf is perfectly fun. You can try to stick with people and kill them on landing or "try to" group up but I doubt you'll find many willing to believe you lol. Usually I try to get a decent distance from folks but not too far so I can try to nab a few on their way to the play area once it shrinks. I spent one game without seeing anyone for about 15 to 20 minutes I believe it was. Made it to 16th place that round. Was picking someone off heading into the play area (I was just outside it in some cover) and someone game over the hill behind me and killed me lol.

183,000+ people playing on Memorial day still haven't bought into the game
Just kinda find it an elitist game saying HEY I'm the last one standing for sure this game will be E-sports game overtaking H1Z1.

Games fun trust me. Give it a try. It's only 30 bucks bro.

After watching a few twitch streams I gave it a go. Normally I hate campers, but for $30 I want to see what the hype is. I mean, the amount of players online atm is awesome.

My brother was saying he gets basically the same performance with his 1070 whether he uses all low settings or maxes everything out. It's definitely an optimization thing.

Not buying this, it seems like the settings don't want to "Stick" dropping to a mix of low/high I can get over 90FPS at 1440p, if I go all Ultra, I'm at 60FPS.

I have very strong PC and I started to play on Ultra. It runs fine but makes it more difficult to see people due to shadows etc. Especially inside buildings. Now I dropped settings to Medium and Shadows to low to see people inside the buildings when I am outside. It is so much better for killing people. But shadows are blocky like Minecraft :)

game is super fun.. I have played about 20 or so rounds and have won one solo game.. never won a squad or duo. Most kills in a round is 9.

It definitely has some similarities to DayZ. Enjoying it pretty thoroughly.

The guy that made PUBG was the creator of the Battlegrounds mod for ARMA, so you can definitely see the ARMA (and DayZ, by extension) influences in PUBG. In fact, the looting/inventory system is basically ripped straight from ARMA. The map is also very similar to the ARMA 3 map that he had his mod using.

Makes sense. It definitely captures the same feeling. Killing people in this game is incredibly exciting.

Starting to wane on me, its great and all till you get to the top 10 and everyone is camping behind a tree with an 8x scope...

I'm not sure this game has enough depth..

It has potential... but I don't think it's my type of game. I am not really into the scavenge for 15 minutes to have your head blown off by some guy with a suppressor.

I see some guys play it over and over. Having friends to play with helps.

im in the same boat as you... you scavenge , scavenge , and die.

i see why people like it, but ... not me

it definitely helps if you can kill people, it makes it a lot more enjoyable when you arent just dying with nothing to show for it.

If you are interested in fighting more often just land somewhere more dense and you will definitely be in for more of a thrill.

Yeah, just jump to the military base if you want instant action. It gets pretty crazy there at the beginning of the game.

i asked for a refund... but green man gaming has it for 25% off now

Bought it again for cheaper. I played in squad and it was way more enjoyable. Im also getting better with my aiming.

Needs more regions so the maps are less predictable. Or maybe randomly generated maps.

I think a fun one would be having to survive in a dense jungle area.. would be pretty crazy having to deal with all the trees, plants and animal noises.

Random smaller maps would be wicked. A dense jungle map would be fucking bad ass.

I enjoy this game, but the scavenging is essentially pointless. I wish this game existed with basic loadouts and you could find items to give your character boosts or something. The first 5-10 minutes of matches gets old. It's just going through the motions so you can actually play the game.

Too much running as well. Gets fucking tiresome chasing down circles.
I have fun but hopefully someone will make the game I'd really like. Less looting because it's dumb as fuck and less running.

lol i know what you mean. me and some buddies just grab cars and go around hunting down people scavenging, we don't even care about playing the survival objective..

Scavenging is way too plentiful. I just scavenge to get what i need then i go to the middle and wait for the fight to come to me.

Aim for the middle of each one, and its not so bad, otherwise people would hide in a shed all match... A lot of the players as someone said, are "Pussy's"... I guess I'm weird and like the random crapshoot of scavenging...

I know Giant Bomb has also mentioned they would like to see the ability to have different loot sets so one time you drop in and only pistols are available as an example.

I keep getting tempted, but as much as I buy and return on steam I am holding off until it is really cheap or they do a free weekend.

The scavenging is bad design. Most games end up exactly the same. Everyone has lvl 2+ gear, ARs, 2-4x scopes, and some meds. It's almost always like that. If everyone has essentially the same load out every game, it's fucking pointless to do the looting at the beginning. There is occasionally a round where you get shit items and even fewer where you get shit and still win.

If they tweaked it so maybe one person in your squad had a decked out AR with a scope silencer etc and everyone else had a shotty or pistol, then I'd be OK with looting. If weapons were rare enough that encounters weren't entirely AR/Sniper vs AR/Sniper every game and you had some scrappy pistol battles and shit, it would be cool.

As it stands, it's just a waste of our time.

it really depends on where you land but typically if you have a 4 player division it usually ends up with 1 person having all the meds 1 person with all the good weapons/addons and 2 people that have mediocre shit until you either kill some one or go to a different area to find more loot. ultimately it depends on how much time your willing to spend looting. but i do agree with you and brennok that there needs to be some randomization for loot availability since it tends to turn into the same crap every match.

A friend of mine got me hooked on this game. I personally don't mind the loot system. It's random. It just seems that it's not all that random, because of the concentration of where loot is and how easily accessable it is in some areas. You can make it pretty far without even killing anyone if you play smart. The armor doesn't really do much. If they see you first good luck. It might take 1 or 2 more shots to kill you, but you have to spot them and kill or hope you can run. I have found good stuff in random buildings not just around the military base. If anyone wants to hook up for a match or 2 my Steam name is Quick-Draw. I use Discord and haven't tried the in game voice yet.

The loot system IS Battle Royale/Battle Grounds. It's been around since the early mod days, and it's a big reason why BG is so popular.

Looting feels like a waste of time because of the lack of weapon choices (legitimate end-game weapons). It will get better once they tweak the drop rates and add more weapons like in previous versions of this game.

No, looting really has nothing to do with why the game is good. Squad vs Squad combat in a large environment is why it's good. The game is enjoyable DESPITE the loot system, not because of it. You have it backwards. The loot system is only there as a distraction to make the earlier parts of the game seem relevant when they simply aren't. The actual game doesn't start until everyone has a gun and gets coordinated. That first 5-10 minutes where you scramble to find something to kill the guys who dropped with you isn't the game. You go through it because the actual meat and potatoes of the game is great.
