Acer X27 4k 144hz HDR Gsync

And they are almost perfect for me too , but how will the black levels be for 27'' 4k gaming monitor with ( IPS + FALD ) VS current Dell UP3017Q OLED and C7 OLED TV .
The peak brightness is great ( 1,000 nit ) but we need a real black levels beside the brightness for 2k$ .
If I'm not mistaken, black level can't be higher than 0.1 to meet the HDR10 standard. It's naturally going to be higher on an IPS LCD compared to an OLED.

Anyone know the release date on the Acer X27? It looks like retailers are liquidating the XB271HU.

I'd expect around the same time as the ASUS or a bit later but who knows. I've read Q3 2017 and Q4 2017 so far for the ASUS. This monitor can't come out soon enough either way. I'll just pick whichever model is available first. Eye tracking will increase the price a little I'm sure but I can live with that, I'm pretty curious about the tech and do have some games that support it anyway.

Makes me absolutely sick to my stomach that this is twenty f*ing seven inches. I know it's been said a million times but FFS!

Summer release according to Computex sources. Wish they would get a little more specific.

I hear ya. I think I am going to end up paying big money either way. I wouldn't doubt the 27inch will cost 2k.

I wouldn't pay 2k for a 27". HDR or not.....27 is just too small for 4k, I don't get why it's even going to be a thing moving forward in 2017-2018.

Maybe it's too small for you, but not all of us. It remains me favorite size even at 4k.

Size DOES matter, GoldenTiger. My girlfriend told me that right before she dumped me, so I know it to be true.

Also after being on an X34 for so long I'm unsure that i could consider going back to 27".

Come on Acer you guys have a 32 inch 4k gsync monitor while Asus doesn't. Bring out a 32 inch version of this baby and I'd gladly drop 2 or even 3k for it. Make it happen!

Same I have no interest in going back to smaller :( Boooooo

Well, neither Asus, neither anyone else for that matter. :)

So does this monitor exist yet? I remember prophecizing that we wouldn't see a 100+Hz 4K monitor until after 2020. I need to see if I can keep my title.

I think they are just holding on to it. Acer and Asus put out so many worthless models they have been trying to liquidate. This thing comes out at any reasonable price point and it will kill the value of everything else, except the x34 which is amazing.

it exists, probably the end of this year you will see these monitors. Expect a very high price point and it will be a very long time before you see a drop in price.

Ya I use a 32" 4K glossy at work that I bought myself. Everyone is in awe of it. They come over just to caress it... In the military they buy us like $150 1080p strong matte GARBANZO BEAN monitors.
Could you tell me What monitor are you using?
I am glossy monitor fan.

I have tried almost any format on the market today and 40" 4K is where it's at. I am currently on a 40" TV (Samsung) and even though I am stuck at 60fps with pretty bad blurring and I would never go back to my 27" 144hz 1440p IPS panel. 40" HDR / 10-bit is just a must have for me. 110ppi is really the sweet spot. No need to use scaling.

Theres barely any games that even support HDR. On PC at least...

While this is true, the HDR support ensures good brightness and good black levels to an extent. Also HDR games are the new cool kid on the block with the new consoles/TVs supporting it.

Annnnd poof.

I would expect a similar delay for the ASUS (which will use the same panel I'm sure). Hopefully the delay is because they are ironing out some issues to give us a monitor worth $2000.

My guess is they are fine tuning performance and releasing monitor after nvidia drops a card capable of doing 4k @100+fps

Getting real sick of the Nvidia marketing machine on these Gsync monitors. Seems every single one is 1+ years out after initial unveiling. How about fuck off until you have your products ready?

Wouldn't sell as many video cards I'm sure. Bad plan.

So, two more weeks?

This feels like new display products in general. Seems like every actually interesting product that involves new tech is announced at CES, then becomes vaporware and only sometimes gets actually released 12+ months later, if at all.
