Best comment so far:
there's probably more RX480's in those pics then the total sum of GTX 10X0's sold world wide thus far

That's too few, actually. I can see a stand of these being scooped up by miners in a single order.

AMD Radeon RX 480 Supplies at Launch

No miners is the lamest excuse I have seen in a good while ...

You know, when someone compares different cards mining on different algorithms, you know they don't know shit.

RX 480 pulls 24MH/s+ before optimizations in Ethereum, while 7950s do 20MH/s at best when OCed.

That guy is comparing 7950's speed in scrypt vs RX 480's speed in ethereum.

It's like comparing how much gas a Hummer uses while idling vs how much gas a Prius uses when going at max speed.

250$ isn't bad at all for first card up. Only 20$ markup. To snag or not to snag...

Its a good deal. But you know those blower versions are going to be LOUD. Think I'll wait until they start selling ones with better cooling options.

you cant add it to cart. So that just made your decision easier lol.

LOL, 5 reviews from non-owners already giving out advice. Good grief this has stirred up folks worrying about other people buying it .

MindFactory tracks total sales. According to their website, they've sold a total of 2,790 GTX 1080's and 1,870 GTX 1070's so far.

1080 launched 4.5 weeks ago, 620 sold per week.
1070 launched 2.5 weeks ago, 748 sold per week.

Just looking at the total figures since both cards are on the market (2.5 weeks) you get a combined total of 1,368 Pascal cards sold per week.

Actually kinda nice seeing a real hard launch with a new node as difficult as 14nm/16nm nodes are.

LOL people that 8k was small. May be that was a good number because that was what like 10 days ago. They might have shipped more since then I guess.

I believe you may, you did say you could be little off. So if your number was roughly 10k shipped 10 days ago, I wouldn't be surprised if they were still shipping these things as you were typing.
I said expect 8K to be in stock on launch day in North America is what I said. :) I am still good with that estimate.

FWIW, I talked to NVIDIA last night and it stated that it has shipped more 1080 on launch day than 980 and shipments and production were scaling better than 980 as well. And 980 was a record setter for NVIDIA in delivery and production department. And I estimate they did 10K on launch day in NA.

Looks like a shortage to me, but it's hard to compare retailers. OP's photo is MindFactory.de.
Remember, $240 vs $700.

OverclockersUK GTX 1080 launch supply:

Well, the OP shows more powercolor 480s than the entirety of 1080s in that photo. That does not count the sapphire, xfx, asus, gigabyte.. etc.

LOL I guess when we see stack of them that sounds like a small number. Well 8k and lets say 100 retailers on launch day is about 80 a pop. But I don't think there are too many retailers as large chunk is probably newegg.

If I look at it that way, sounds enough. When I think about buying one its wither newegg or amazon.
I would suggest that 80% of the inventory in NA will be through NE and Amazon.

so nvidia had more 1080s on launch day then rx 480? But 1080s are no where to be found? I am like scratching my head right now. if they have such large supply did the 700 dollar market just grew another 10%? Cuz I check stock every day on stock check website the 1080s are rarely available. They pop up here and there but seems like 1070 are more frequently available lately.

I was at frys today by the way and I went to see if they rx 480s on shelf. They are pretty strict about putting products on shelf before release date but they did have tags on the shelf. MSI, XFX and gigabyte at 259.99.

I then tried to find a 1070/1080, the whole shelf was empty.

And what happens if the 480 sells out instantly and disappears for days at a time? Just like the 1070 and 1080 launch.
It's the first new node in approx 5 years so yes I would say the market across the board is going to increase exponentially.

I guess we will find out. Who keeps better supply up and running.

wait are you seeing the reviews?

Hype is fuckin real for the card, you got people quoting furmark? lol man unbelievable. Fanboys are coming out to fight.

Some guy quoted furmark and said it does 89c lmao. When I saw that video he said 75c, and we all know nvidia is smart when it comes to furmark they detect it and throttle it when amd is as stupid always, they just find a way to look bad on camera. I blame them for it, don't know why they don't throttle the card when the drivers detect furmark.

There were similar photos of Pascal cards sitting in manufacturing and logistics facilities. Doesn't mean anything without know the total quantity.

I still think this card will be sold out on the big etailers (Newegg, Amazaon, Tigerdirect, etc) by the end of the day tomorrow.

I think AMD will be more vocal about this if they sell a shit load of this. Cuz they kind of need to lol.

These cards can go out to all the dirty miners for all I care. I want to see the reviews (and hopefully ample supply) of non-reference board RX 480s.

Whos staying up all night until they come in stock?

I am ordering as many as possible...LoL

Hoping for good reviews and adequate supply. My wife's PC is sitting on the floor waiting for a new card, and mine is using Intel's HD4600.

Plan is to get a 460/470 or a GTX 950 tomorrow for her, based on price and reviews. Add for me, custom cooler version in 1-3 weeks.

I'm excited for [H]'s review of this, hopefully then it will calm down a bit.

I don't know.. if Kylie is in charge of running the gamut, I am not expecting much. Probably see lots of Project Cars, Witcher 3 (w/Hairworks) GTAV, Anno 2205, FO4.. noticeably absent will be AOTS, Hitman , Doom, COD:BO3, The Division..

There is red tint, there is AMD Gaming Evolved sticker and then there's doja smoke around one's eyes. You are the latest in the list.

Trying to figure out if I should order this online as soon as it is available, or wake up early, go to Fry's, and most likely get raped for an over-MSRP price...

Well to be fair, they do use Dying Light and Fallout 4 which significantly favor NV.

But I'm pretty sure they're aware of that fact.

Lol, Ebay is filling up with some rather high priced Buy It Now RX 480's. Good grief, that is probably where most of the cards went already, EPay.

For everyone who will surely jump to conclusions about AMD having low supply/manufacturing issues when these cards are hard to come by over the next couple weeks, I'll remind you that three things happen with highly-anticipated cards like this:

1. Ebay hawkers' mouths are watering at the thought of pulling high markups. There are many larger hawkers who currently have small armies of clickers and bots at the ready, and some have even worked out deals to directly purchase in bulk from resellers.
2. OEMs have already taken a portion of the allocation for their boxes, and will continue to over the coming weeks/months. The $200 mark is perfect for the pre-configured PC market.
3. Miners. Yes, I know leaks have shown 480 to not be the best hex muncher, but the card's power efficiency will make up for that in the eyes of many

That's not to say AMD does have supply issues, simply that you should manage your expectations on getting your hands on a card right away (and definitely not at msrp)
