World of Warships Enters Open Beta!

I was saying that the XVM-like stats that you see in Chibe's screenshots on the last page seem like they pull from the warships.today website and use the WTR rating to gauge a given player's ability. This is from a mod in Aslain's modpack to show user stats in game.

latest update broke something in the mod pack, either damage counter or training room, or both.

I just copied over my mod folder, and it worked ok for me. I don't have training room, so maybe that's the one, that one usually breaks things. DMG counter worked ok.
 
The Beta isn't really doing for me what I wanted. I wanted a rapid race up to the T10 Shimi, Zao, etc... so I could plot my next path carefully, but once you hit T6 the grind is pretty much the same as the release game with the exception captains points seem to be accelerated.

I guess that makes since because that's were a major change was made.

They gave us a Billion (with a B LOL) pieces of silver. Why not a Billion dablooms :)

XP seems to be pretty standard too.
 
Because everyone would only test T8-T10 ships, and they need all of them tested.
 
I know, but it's only 9 days and no human will ever make it that far in 9 days.
 
Seems that every patch breaks your mods and you have to download the new Aslains mods when it comes out and put them back. The mini map mod with the ship names is by far the best one and its annoying playing with out it.

Starting to get the hang of the cleveland since been grinding it for destroyer kills for the ARP myoko yay got 2 more only 15 more to go. This has to be the most frustrating mission ever and gets yu kills often as you rush in trying to kill a DD which is against what you want to do with a cleveland I think you want to stay at 12-15 km and just keep shooting. Closing gets you killed fast since you don't have torpedos no reason to.

Haven't played the derpski much yet I just got it since it seems cool to play in platoons.
 
You can try copying the files from the mod folder to the new mod folder when the game gets updated before aslain gets his app updates, the mods I use usually work fine, some like training room break almost every time. I use dmg counter, mini-map, HE/AP tracer colors, different scope, transparent mini-map and player stats, all worked fine this morning just copying them over.
 
Ok, on the test server today they have doubled dablooms to 10,000 and made all upgrades to Tier 8 just a single dabloom (or two).

It looks like they are going to slowly move things up so maybe we'll hit the T10 stuff later this week :)

I'm up to the Mogami and Fubuki at this point. These are the two main lines I'm concerned with.

If I have time, I'll take one of the Battleship lines to the top.

I really want to get some time in the Zao and the Shimakazi. I'm torn between which one to go for next.
 
Anyone who has a tirpitz and gets a tirpitz coin, Id buy the code for the ship from you. I was away the last time it was on sale and I am have been laid up with pins in my legs after an accident over the holidays. I have a love affair with the tirpitz and a need in my bones to have one.

Good luck I think the odds are against you. They only gave out 10 Tirpitz.

The answer to that last part is a definite "no," but Daniil Volkov and the rest of the World of Warships development team are hard at work creating new features and more content for your favorite naval combat game. I also should have gotten double strike as well, but I had that wierd bug when your client says your turrets are keeping up on the target during a turn, but the server says you can't fire yet. Took 5 seconds to stop the ship from turning to kill off the Izumo.

1 in 100 odds are actually really good. I never win anything, but I put the post on reddit and Im hoping if someone who already has a tirpitz and get a tirpitz coin with a code for a ship would permit me to buy it from them.

Totally understand, I have one and it is great for aggressive ranked play, she can really take a hit and dish them out.

yeah i get that shit sometimes.. usually i'll manually drop target and re-target them and sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. but i know what you mean.. tuesday was stupidly painful for me.. got hit by friendly torps in 4 of the 6 games i played til i finally rage quit.. and not this was not me intentionally going in front of torps, it was people firing torps at targets 15km+ away when they're torps only go 6-10km while sitting directly behind me..

Reaaally looking forward to secondary improvements with the patch on the Tirpitz. I'm very aggressive in the Tirpitz, will be a nice addition.
 
well my final match for the day was a crazy one.. team tried to do everything possible to throw the game, came down to us having 2 BB's (colorado, NY) and myself in an aoba vs 2 nagato's, cleveland, and mustsucki.. 3 capture points to 1, losing 670 tickets to 130 tickets on northern lights map

colorado and i killed the cleveland, so i then go after the mustsucki, kill it, not realizing there was a nagato right around the corner of an island, i put 2 torps into it, as he's trying to dodge my second set of torps he goes full broadside to the colorado, colorado one shots it for 38k damage.. so i cap the point and head to our BB's to help them with the minekaze thats sitting 7-8km away firing torps and help with the other nagato, our colorado eats 4 torps dies as my 4 torps broadside the nagato, it dies.. it's now a NY, Aoba vs a minekaze... btw we're still losing 890 tickets to 670 (2 caps vs 2 caps).. after 3 different salvo's of torps the NY finally dies, it's now minekaze vs my aoba.. spend the next 2 minutes chasing it down, cap C and we're still losing.. (i should of just capped D to win it but already screwed my route up to D so i just decide to chase the minekaze).. dodge another 2-3 salvo's and we start playing ring around the rosie on this island.. then the minekaze thinking he could kill me, turns left instead of continuing the loop, it's now 940 to 990, put 2 volleys into him and we win the god damn game!!!!

TL;DR i won the damn game.. and i really need to enable recording but i always forget to do it until i've already started the game.. GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

using +50% XP flag btw and also the whole last 5 minutes of the game the other team kept bitching at me about using an aimbot, i don't even know how to add mods to the game or even turn on replays, but ok i'm aimbotting with my 54% WR and like 22% accuracy.. ya know because it has nothing to do with the fact that i've played over 5000 games since the start of CBT..

I've had a few instances of BB's showing up out of no where well under 5k away (no smoke around) thiat made me wonder.

I've tried most of the aim lines in Aslains. Didn't see any lead indicators, and frankly none of the many aim lines really seemed like an improvement to me.

There is one that stretches across the screen that is good for shooting cruisers doing 35 knots at 20k yards only because the built in ruler is still too damn small.

Why they don't fix that I don't understand.

Glad to hear cheating hasn't been an issue, though lead indicator would be one hell of a cheat.
 
Finally got the 30 destroyer kills and now on 300 fires for the ARP Myoko missions. Cleveland was actually pretty good for destroyer killing if you followed the destroyers on your team and shot the enemy destroyers when your destroyers spotted them. Only issue is you would get shot up and dead if anyone else was backing up their destroyers. Now to light some fires.

What is a good line to focus on getting to tier 10 if I want to get serious and play in tier 10 clan wars?

Is Yamato actually good are are you midway and shimikaze food is what I heard?

Midway sounds awesome but really not liking the Bogue. The Langley was ok at tier 4 cause everyone's AA was so bad but Bogue is just not very good other then the 150 plane kills for ARP Kongo.

Not sure if I do but would like to have a tier 10 ship that is competitive eventually. Been having plenty of fun at tier 5 and 6 with the Kongo, Murmask, Cleveland, Warspite so not in a huge rush to get tier 10 but I would like a competitive ship if I do put i the time to get tier 10.
 
I'm showing the test server down for the 3rd day in a row. This don't seem right.

it's hard to say with the new captain skills, i think it's going to change a lot about whats good and bad.. but the yamato, zao, shimikaze(mustsucki, and hatsu grind are painful though), hindenberg (grind is painful) from what i've seen are all good T10 ships.



wtf, screw that aim assist mod and screw WG'ing for saying it's allowed... though now i want that spaceship mod for the lulz, lol.
 
the Tachibana sucks :p, well the guns are not bad, but over all I have more fun in the Umikaze, I might keep it to train captains a bit.

A target lead indicator certainly exists but, while it'd be great to see any type of cheating broken completely, it doesn't mean anything.

The two reasons I say that is because it's a skillset earned through experience and, more importantly, you can't distinguish a skillset like that from a lead indicator in any way, shape or form. RNG still applies to someone using that, too, so it's literally impossible to find out if someone is cheating with it unless you're watching their monitor. Replays won't give any idea of it, either, so there's no reason to bother concerning oneself with any suspicions of it which this community just can't seem to manage.

And as far as a battleship not showing up from 5km away, that's just not what happened. Either your spatial awareness wasn't on point that day or you're playing on settings that don't show smoke very well but I've seen you mention that a few times and it's you, not the game.
 
Man, I played a game with the luckiest Pensacola EVER. 5 KM away broadeside to the fuso, I hit him, 8/12 shells hit, 4000 damage.... I have that replay and I'm going to clip that part.. lol I Can't believe how much over pen and bounce that salvo got....
