So who killed it at E3?

Sony had announcements for longtime fans, but really showing footage from 2009 and announcing a kickstarter is not cool. None of the games they had are coming out this year. Most of what they spent their money on is timed exclusives, and that horrible COD.

Remember the days when Sony had tons of first party studios churning out quality exclusives. Never thought I'd see the day when COD takes the most time in a Sony event.

It's timed exclusive. Just do what everyone under the sun is gonna do -- play the shit out of Fallout 4 starting 11/10/15. Forget about Tomb Raider releasing on Xbox One on 11/10/15. By the time you are tired of Fallout 4, Tomb Raider will be out on PC.

Oh snap. Well thank god for that. Looking forward to playing it on the PC.

isn't there a PC gaming presentation tonight?

Yup, PC Gamer is hosting an event. Hoping it will be a good'er, I know Microsoft is scheduled to be there, so hoping for some Halo 5 news, or at least something more than 'Xbone streaming to your PC'.

I'm thinking MS will get an earful from the PC crowd if that's all they have.

You all saw fake videos that are embellishing the quality of the final product. So this thread should really be called, "Who lied the most at E3".

Jesus, is Square Enix releasing ANYTHING for the pc? christ.. i wouldn't mind star ocean 5 on my pc. or tomb raider for that matter.. the last one was a blast to play.

tomb raider is just timed exclusive so it is coming to PC next yr most likely
i'm not sure about Star Ocean / KH3 / NieR / FF7-remake / FF15 / Project Setsuna etc

Killed it? No one.

Microsoft dropped a bomb shell with backwards compatibility, but the rest of the conference was mediocre. Sony's conference contained the game that sparked my interest the most: Horizon Zero Dawn. The Uncharted 4 demo was cool. The No Man's Sky demo was cringeworthy - literally looked like the developer had no interest in showing off the game. Nintendo didn't deliver anything of interest to me. All in all, Microsoft and Sony were pretty much equal, but if I HAD to give the edge to one I'd give it to Microsoft.

I do think Microshaft came in with a great presentation. I fell asleep watching Sony presentation. Also Sony spent too much time on one game whereas, Microsoft showed games after games after games. Also, they ended up giving me repeated orgasms since they showed:

Gears of War
Forza
Halo

all in same conference. It is all I play on the XBONER.

Sony was extremely weak since anything they showed was not an exclusive and Uncharted 4 is so far out. Last Guardian can eat my schlong and apart from SF V I have nothing to look forward to this year on the PS4.

I don't own an XB1 or PS4 yet, mostly because I resisted the decision to buy them due to lack of games, and so far E3 has not changed my mind. Not big into shooters, the one game I really want is Forza 6 which Dec, so I'll see what holiday bundles are out, and most games are 2016.

I bought my Ps3 and 360 late in the cycle and had a ton of games, and that too for cheap, so I'm used to that. For mostly SP gamers, there really is no advantage buying early.

To be fair though, the best games coming are already pretty much set in stone like Uncharted 4, No Man's Sky, and personally for me the big one this year is MGS5. I know it's not exclusive but i've always associated Metal Gear with Playstation which is why I pre-ordered it on there (and b/c it'll likely look better than the Xbox One version).

I was disappointed to not hear of any new Resident Evil 7 news from Capcom last night. Rumors are that it's going back towards it's roots and going to be more survival-horror than Michael Bay. Don't really care for a RE:0 re-release mostly because I have the game sitting in my closet waiting to be finished.

I think Nintendo is going through a dry spell, with big hitters like Xenoblade and Zelda already announced previously. Beyond that, Nintendo said they will talk about the new NX platform next year. So maybe they are close to winding down on WiiU releases they prepare their new platform, hence there's not much to talk about in the long term. If anything, Nintendo needs to start preparing some big hitters to go along with NX.

Though I'm surprised they didn't show anything new for Zelda.

I am a bit surprised that we haven't heard of any more New 3DS exclusive titles.

I must say I've never seen an E3 so jam packed with stuff worthy of this.

I can't even remember all the stuff Bethesda announced because I just about lost it when I saw all that sexy action in FO4. I don't care how old the engine is, it looks fun as hell.

I don't think Ubisoft presented a single game that didn't look amazing. I know their cloud system is the worst DRM imaginable, but all those Tom Clancy games... good lord... I may have to dump the girlfriend to make time on my schedule.

I've got my fingers crossed that Battlefront doesn't turn into a huge cluster but I know how good EA is at shooting themselves in the foot. I might wait until the DLCOFTHEYEAR edition is released.

Where are all these people that wanted a Battletoads game? I've been coming here for over a decade and gaming since I can remember and I never heard anyone on the internet say... "I wish they'd make a new Battletoads." I don't like Final Fantasy but even I understand how many people have wanted a FF7 remake and why.

Anyway, I am most excited about Ubisoft's games they showed. The Division, Ghost Recon Wildlands, and Rainbow Six Siege.

But there are plenty of other games that have made my list for must buys...

The Last Guardian (shocked this was still alive)
Rock Band Live
Doom
Mass Effect: Andromeda
Horizon Zero Dawn
Mirror's Edge Catalyst
South Park: The Fractured but Whole
Gears of War 4

You misspelled Rock Band 4 :p.

Are you guys talking about who killed that brown snake someone found in the bathroom?

*still waking up*

The trailer for XCom 2 was tops for me, along with the No Man's Sky demo

Haven't caught up on the E3 stuff but was it mentioned whether or not Doom would have SP Co-Op?

Doom comes with an editor function called SnapMap or somesuch, and apparently it will support Co-op. It's supposed to be very easy to use according to the E3 presentation.

Their is a TON of risk in what square is doing with FF7. They even said directly that the plot will likely be different, and to FF7 fans theres a chance theyll HATE the changes they make. Also if they change the battle system...Square has to walk a fine line with their changes or there might be some major backlash

Sony did great
Microsoft did great
Nintendo ... eh, the only thing I liked at their booth was Super Mario Maker
Bethesda did great
Activision, COD didn't look great, Skylanders did though
Ubisoft, The Division looked run of the mill, Siege while cool seems light on features. However, Ghost Recon Wildlands looks amazing
EA, Unraveled, thats all I have to say
Square Enix did great with FF7 remake, other titles and KH3 details

Things that I'm less excited about after E3 now...

No Man's Sky - Its basically an exploration game ,nothing much else unfortunately
Star Fox - ran smooth in person, the controls SUCKED and the art and graphics looked like shhhiiiiiit
Metriod 3DS -- Looks like shit, blast ball hurt my thumbs after just 1 match.
Zelda Tri Force Heroes - Played this for 30 minutes, hated every bit of it. Shared health between 3 players, and we constantly failed on easy tasks because 1 person sucked.
The Last Guardian - Looks like a PS3 game to me, and they showed the same shit from 2009 basically, which doesn't bode well. Loads of placebo with most opinions I think.

Stand out games for me

Battlefront - Spot on
Fallout 4 - Everything it should be
Super Mario Maker - Complete surprise, building levels feels like a game in itself. I imagine most people, even those who haven't played a Mario game in 20 years would fall in love with this after demo'ing it.

Everything else was pretty meh, and by that I mean.. looked good, as expected, par for the course, safe, tame, in short ... not worth my hard earned money most likely.

Doom i thought looked amazing, going to upgrade my pc next month just to make sure i'm ready to play on release,
Although i'm now a bit shocked that some fans have taken screen shots and "doomified" them like the original which looks much better.
