Sierra is back!!!

What do you think they will announce? What do you want them to announce? Will they reboot one of their most popular games? Predictions? Thoughts? Inside secret knowledge? Let us know!!! :D

Never heard of Gamescom before. Should be interesting.

EDIT: Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions (this holiday) and King's Quest (2015), on top of their "focus on indie studios and innovative, graphically unique games that include new IP and reimaginings of beloved Sierra classics, has been revealed. Thoughts?

If Roberta Williams 1 directs a new or makes the Next Kings Quest I'll be all over it.
That is the biggest franchise name for Sierra either that or Space Quest. I would take a
3-D or 2-D game.

Wonder if they still own the rights to SWAT series.

Then again I do not have any hopes for a proper tactical FPS these days. Any modern shooter just has to be multiplayer action FPS.

Never heard of probably the biggest gaming convention in the world? wow...

You've been undercover for quite a while.

OT: What if they reveal they're working on their whole catalogue. Incredible.

They had a fishing game that i spent days playing can't remember what it was called off the top of my head but i need some more of that.

A company name means nothing without good people behind it.

Being part of Activision I maybe expect 1/4 of an adventure game with the other 3/4 being paid for DLC.

Heh, proove me wrong... :(

i think the name was trophy bass, i played the hell out of it as a kid haha

As far as I know they do. I'd love a new proper SWAT game as well, hell I'd be happy if they would just sell 4 digitally so I can pick it up and play it again.

Roberta is what 63 now? Pretty sure this is not going to be the Scumsoft type quality gen next grew up with. I'd crawl through glass to work on a game she made but I'm afraid those days have come and gone.

I played the HELL out of that when I was a kid. I loved fishing (and still do) in the summer, but hated ice-fishing. So the only way I got to enjoy the "lake" in the winter was fishing games. Had a few for the genesis, but trophy bass 2 for pc was my favorite. Think I still got the install disks around here......

needs moar ProPilot(as in a new flight sim to compete with Dovetails future offerings) and Outpoost

wasn't the last Kings Quest she made like...terrible?

Depends on who you ask, as most Kings Quest fans don't count Mask Of Eternity part of the series (even though it wears a Kings Quest name and was created by Roberta Williams).

Most think that Kings Quest VIII sucks. I haven't played it, but it looks like shit. Kings Quest VII, the last Kings Quest game I personally played... Also sucks. In my opinion Kings Quest IV and Kings Quest VI are the best.

Leisure Suit Larry: In Bed with Corporate America

Well at least we know that he would be getting screwed in that version.

They had the Trophy Bass game that's been mentioned but they also had a Trophy Rivers game with salmon, steelhead, and trout. Trophy Rivers was more my style but I'm sure it mainly depends on what you've fished for IRL, around here(NW) bass is a four letter word for most people that fish.

I liked the Quest games and the Leisure Suit Larry games but my favorite Sierra game was The Legend of Robin Hood. I've gone back and played most of those old Sierra games in the last few years and while they have a certain creativity that seems to be missing these days they weren't quite as good as I remember them being. If you use walkthroughs(that weren't available back then) to get past the couple illogical puzzles they all seem to have then they're only a couple hours long with most of that time being spent running around. I also don't miss the pixel hunting that became common during the vga era.

Not to be a Debbie Downer... but there's already an active thread about this in the PC subforum.

Rumor has it it's going to be something to do with Kings Quest. I'd much rather see SWAT get an actual, proper sequel that doesn't play like COD.

Seirra had something to do with my favourite AVP game, too, didn't they? AVP2?

Nope. AvP2 was developed by Monolith and published by Fox Interactive.

Man do I wish Monolith would put out another FPS. Shogo, NOLF, AVP2, FEAR... all awesome. Condemned was pretty good too. Shadow of Mordor looks good, but it just doesn't seem like their type of game. Gimmie Shogo 2!

While I wasn't impressed with The Silver Lining, a lot of people seem to like it. Have you taken a look at that? It's a fan made KQ game.

And the reason I wasn't impress with The Silver Lining, might just because I can't play point and click adventure games any more.

From what I've read she didn't get to direct the development of the last two the way she did with earlier games since her husband was losing control of the company at that point. She was a co-lead dev on 7 and almost took her name off 8.

I actually thought 7 was fine, Mask of Eternity crashed and burned though.

Interesting. I didn't know that.

Personally, I enjoyed Kings Quest 7 as a child, but coming back to it as an adult, I can't say I still feel the same way... Rosella and Valanice were annoying characters, and everything else seemed to be annoying as well. Ooga-Booga land? Archduke Fifi le Yipyap? Seriously? Other than that though, I loved the midi score. :)

Hey all I think so these are childish games which we played in our childhood. No one can say what they will announce as we are not sitting in the heart of gamers.

Maybe it'll be a software distribution application like what EA did to Origin.

Now if only we could bring back Dynamix and have a real Tribes sequel.
