Final Fantasy XIV Official Release Thread

Turns out EU SE orders are getting codes emailed out in waves. Just got my EA code which registered without issue. No update on pre-order code and no registered games under my account yet, but I imagine they'll get updated in time.

Sweet. Got my code registered finally, so I'm ready then. First MMORPG I've been really excited about since.....well FFXI. I was mildly hopeful for GW2, but lost interest very fast after release. Had more fun in Phase 4 than in GW2.

I'm on Leviathan. We need to start an [H] guild or something if there isn't one already.

Go to you account management, its under the one time password section, i ordered it from there.
 
There was a little talk about the free company but I don't know what the end result of that was. There will at least be a linkshell which was started by dremic. PM Dremic Sin for an invite.

I'm going rafting/camping this weekend so I will just hope I will be able to get on the server on release day with the masses.

its likely that i will start up a free company when i hit 25. i'll let people know here whats going on with that this weekend. or release week, if people are interested
 
Has anyone been having issues registering the Early Access code?

I keep getting this error with mine:

Yeah some of those weapons were insane, I loved the Bow that had wings that unfolded when you draw it.

I wonder if they have any armours that use that kind of detail, with moving parts and things.

I know you can /visor to lift/lower your helm (if it has a visor) which is neat.

It's case sensitive. Mine said the same thing till I did it in all caps.

Not sure if that's your issue, but thought I'd mention it.

That didn't work either.

Another suggestion was changing the language to English (US).

That didn't work also.
 
So are boss monsters gonna be a challenge? also are they referred to BAMs? aka Big Ass Monsters?

I hope so (in terms of challenge) and hopefully it's a good FUN tactical challenge, not cheap.

I got bored of GW2's dungeons quickly because they just so absurdly made the enemies hit like a truck and take so little damage, it wasn't a fun challenge moreso just annoying.
 
Is this a legit e-mail address "[[email protected]]"? Because I am getting e-mail from that address. My old e-mail from square was "[[email protected]]" . So I don't know if I should delete the .eu.square-enix e-mails or keep them. I assume I am getting EU e-mails by accident like it was posted on the FFXIV twitter page. I am not sure though. Anybody with this issue while you're waiting for your Early Access code?

Mine came from that email as well and it had the same code I got off the web site when I registered my early access code so I would assume its a legit email.

It seems like everything on their end keeps getting routed through the UK server, though I dont think it matters much from the looks of it.

Here's to hoping for a smooth start for us Saturday morning, hope to see most of you on in our linkshell on Leviathan. I probably won't be back on the forums until Sunday night to see what's up. Will be in game all weekend most likely, for once I don't have other obligations.
 
So I got the CE from greenmangaming but it doesn't say its CE when I put the code in.. Any ideas?

yea thats what I figured. Just like SWTOR was. CDkey for pre-release play, then your official cdkey for the game when it goes live.

Cannot wait to play :) too bad my vacation ends today....bleh
 
I have an original 1.0 CE Copy, but missed out on the betas, I had a character on Midgard (which doesn't even exist anymore). I wonder if my character or any of my old gear still exists out there?

Also, I'm wondering if I'll get any free playtime for this re-release...

Don't you get to play until September 9th, or something to that extent, if you were a 1.0 subscriber? I thought I saw dremic post that somewhere.
 
for those of you without characters on leviathan, i would make sure you log on at 2am if just only to create one. one of the news stories on the launcher warns they will lock character creation to prevent flooding

HMMM ill be at work, but it looks like ill be installing it on my laptop.

Thankfully I was able to finally get in and create all my potential toons before P4 closed lol...


I seriously cant wait to get into this..been day dreaming all week. Please dont let me down again FFXIV...:eek:

Yea luckily I can play at work on the laptop. You will be amazing how well an A10 trinity laptop can play games.

It might not look like my main system at home, but who cares I want on that server before the lockout.
 
i will set my alarm for 1:45, or maybe i will stay awake playing d3, gonna make the toon on leviathan and wait to see if any of my friends made it to excalibur

If it's the laptop I'm thinking of with the 7970M, it'll probably play as well as my laptop does in my sig, which is to say, amazing.

what laptop?
my laptop can hardly run the game, i5 and gt555m
