New Elysium Trailer

Every time I here about the movie Elysium, I keep thinking/hoping it's the Nick Cave sequel to Gladiator.

 Must.See

I'll be a monkey's uncle if I'm not within the first 10 people in line when it opens up at theaters. Badass.

Looks promising and I liked District 9 as well!

Looks pretty cool. Matt Damon has been a favorite actor of mine for a while now, he's had quite a few good roles in a variety of films.

It looks like it has a plot similar to the anime Battle Angel Alita.

What's interesting about that, is James Cameron owns the rights to Battle Angel and was rumored to do that movie after the Avatar sequels....but if he made it then (like 8 years from now) he'll be called a copy cat like the Fern Gully/Avatar thing....poor guy can't catch a break....other than being a gozillionaire

Yeah that poor, poor billionaire. I'll say a prayer for him tonight

As a fan of both Blomkamp and Damon, I have high hopes for this movie.

This is the first new movie in years that really has me excited, obviously as a huge fan of District 9 as well. Many people were expecting a sequel aka "District 10" no doubt, and to my mind it was smart of him to zag instead of zig by sidestepping all the pressure that comes with a sequel and trying to top the first one.

Plus if Elysium does well then he'll have even more cache (and budget) for a District 9 sequel done right, if he ever chooses that route.

This guy's genius is a "dirty, grimy" kind of SciFi where he creates the illusion that its grounded in reality, its not all shiny transformers shit or glowing holodecks and pressed uniforms. Can't wait.

I always thought Matt Damon was kind of a Streisand, but he's rocking the shit in this one!

I thought Avatar was just a live action remake of Fern Gully.

I loved District 9. One of the best under rated Sci-Fi movies out there. And now this, his new movie. Great director, incredible visionary.

I think this guy was supposed to do the Halo movie until the project was cancelled or put on hold.

he's really not that bad of an action hero and actor. I liked what he did in the Bourne movies.

Probably for the best given that games to movie conversions don't port very well like console to PC.

"do you want a pill?" lol... looks pretty amazing. I can see the District 9 influence in it.

Yeah, I don't care how awesome it looks. After his appearance in Green Zone, I will never pay money to see anything he has any part of. If I ever see the guy in person I'm going to tell him that he should be ashamed of himself and that he should apologize.

I was very impressed with Blomkamp when he released Alive in Joburg back in the day. District 9 was amazing.

Dunno how and why but 2013 has a nice saturation of sci-fi movies with Elysium being by far the most impressive one. Can't wait.

Heh, Battle Angel was supposed to be released BEFORE Avatar but it didn't happen. I clearly remember Cameron talking about it early 2000s.

It looks good, but what is with previews that essentially give me a detailed summary of the whole movie? Sometimes, I feel like I am just watching the movie to see the ending... and some trailers have even given that away.

Looks decent, I am glad to see Jodie Foster still doing movies. Being a Sci Fi fan, I will have to see this. But its going to be hard to top Oblivion, that movie was amazing.

Fuck yeah. Was excited from the first trailer and even moreso now. Loved District 9.

Huh? Are you serious? Oblivion was convoluted garbage. Should have been a mini series on sci fi at best.

lack of negative posts has me suspicious people like this movie for other than the movie itself is actually any good or not.

Yeah, Oblivion had the shittiest, most generic plot ever. The GF and I called it literally 5 minutes into the movie. It was pretty to look at, but the plot was terrible.

I hope for dear GOD they don't do shaken cam in this movie like D9. I liked D9 but the shaky cam make me not enjoy it for what it was, a good sci-fi.
