Unreal Engine 4 "Infiltrator" Demo

Quit dicking around with demos and make a game at least as good as UT2K4. I mean, it looks nice and all... but all we have seen from them in a long time are tech demos.

Agreed.

I would pay good money for a Samaritan/Inflitrator game built in UE4.

I would enjoy it immensely for about 12 seconds before my two Fermi boards overwhelmed the power grid and incinerated my house.

Wish when the guy comes out into the city, one of the buildings said LIANDRI CORP. now that would have been freakin cool.

Wish they would go back and do the best Unreal games with this engine: Unreal 1 with Return Na Pali and the original Unreal Tournament.

looks great, I hope they do something cool with it. I would not mind another Unreal -tournament and a UT4 (Yes I like UT3)

Wait and see.

I still want an unreal 3, unreal 2 sucked but unreal 1 and its expansion are easily one of the best fps games ive ever played

Would be nice to know what hardware they used to run this, if its really real-time rendered. If I remember correct Samaritan was running on 3 580's at 1080p with MSAA and later on Epic claimed a single Kepler GPU (not sure which) can run it with FXAA.

Looks great... why is it with all these super advanced robots they still can't mange to aim and hit their targets :p

I agree with y'all though, some flashy graphics aren't very satisfying when the gameplay is mediocre. I know "reboots" are kind of a cop-out, but I wouldn't mind seeing one for the original Unreal game.

Nvidia said it was done on a single GTX680.

This, This, and This.

I do hope that this means we are getting a new UT soon. It is time for some true deathmatch and capture the flag (VCTF) play. The first Unreal is what got me into online gaming back in 1998. Aside from Unreal 2 (that game was a joke), I have played and loved every single one.

I wonder if "Infiltrator" and "Samaritan" are linked in some way. They certainly share the same dark and gritty futureistic setting.

Perhaps Epic is setting us up for their new franchise?

Looks amazing if this is real-time.

In fact, I'm seeing some amazing stuff lately.

The ship with very stormy ocean and of course the face animation ... mind blowing.

I kept wanting to wipe off the damn lens. Annoying as hell with all the "dust" on it. If you're going to try to make a "hollywood" style demo that's flashy and actiony, then do what they do and use a clean lens.

Epic don't make tech demos. They have tons of artist but not enough to sit around and male high quailty stuff like this when they have to ship games by a deadline.

There is something way more to these tech demos than you think epic would be pissed if too many people said to much about the samaritan demo or these unreal 4 "demos"

Hint the first unreal engine 3 demos used tons of artwork and code from gears of war and Ut3.

These are test runs for something way more than a tech demo and most of the stuff seems 100% finished.

if somebody was to talk you could find out what it is call cliff.

Oh you. Quit hint dropping or you'll upset the PR guys.

These days all Epic does is make advertising demos for their engines. Gears or War not withstanding Epic doesn't seem to care about actual games that much.

That's not exactly proof that these aren't merely tech demos, they could've just hired more artists to pimp the tech and pitch idea... but I hope you are right and these are future in-game demos, that would not surprise me anyways.

The demo with the lava dude, to me, doesn't look leaps and bounds better then PS3 stuff, and is almost difficult to watch due to the framerate issues.

Did anyone else LOL after the red button was pushed? I mean... one button utterly destroys their manufacturing robots.

I digress... it DID look very nice.

If you watch the original and that one side by side there is some differences. The "ps4" demo is definitely brighter and lacks some effects.

Texture wise though, really similar.

That I wouldn't be surprised. Supposedly the tech demo is using a GTX 680. So what we see in the PS4 is how the quasi-Radeon 7850 is handling it, which is actually not that bad.

It's a really good indication though how well the PS4 is running.

Ugh. Looks like the same bloom'd bulky modeling as U3 which turned me off instantly in UT3. Same with gears. I guess I'm hard to impress but I don't see anything proven in that video that's a wow factor. They have a long way to go to repair the UT99/UT2K4 crowd after the disaster that was UT3 if that is this engines future goal.

*sigh*

So, we got the UE3 Samaritan demo however long ago, yet pretty much no games look anywhere close to that yet. We still get UE3 games that look infinitely worse, however.

Now we have this awesome demo, run on a single 680, with UE4. I think it's time people started making UE4 games, then.

Funny thing also, the only time it looked like it lagged was at the end with the logo. :p

that was a bad-ass tech demo!...but why do all Unreal engine tech demos seem better then any actual games that use it
