What kind of idiot pays $40,000 for headphones?
That's as bad as diamonds (which are also a scam).
These would look great sitting on a $10,000 desk...
When the rich get richer, they have to buy a lot of stupid shit.

Yeah, for that much they could've at least put some of these in the damn thing...
I don't recognize the mid-driver right off the top of my head, but that tweeter is undeniably a Vifa Ring Radiator. And while it is considered to be of the best tweeters avialable, it is still just a $35 unit.
That particular design was already perfected in the 90's with the B&W Nautilus speakers. I guess the economy has gone to crap, cause it only took $60K back in the 90's to get them. Now you gotta pay 5 Mil for an even worse design
Those products are not considered audiophile, really. It just shows you like decent products.

noun
a person who is especially interested in high-fidelity sound reproduction.
Well, I'm just going by this:

Now if there's some marketing group or snobby rich club out there deciding "this is audiophile, that is not audiophile", etc, then to hell with them. I take my sound seriously because I want good quality sound. Labels mean nothing to me, so if I just have good taste in products but it disqualifies me from the "audiophile" label, so be it. I'll be happy just so long as my Mozart sounds crisp and clean.
This is why you're not an audiophile. You're being logical about sound. Audiophiles will often toss out or attempt to discredit scientifically measurable differences in favor of perceived differences in sound quality.
I think you're misusing the term "audiophile" in the place of the correct term, which is "elitist morons".
Spend some time on audiophile forums and you'll see what I mean. Maybe the elitist morons stole the term, but it's pretty widely accepted that they are one in the same these days.
We've seen some expensive hardware in our day but nothing like a pair of speakers that cost $5 million (Monster wires and Geek Squad calibration not included). Even if you were a billionaire....spending that kind of money on these speakers is seriously retardical.
When the rich get richer, they have to buy a lot of stupid shit.
There better be hookers inside those things that come out any time you put on Barry White.
Might be a bit short here.
Oook...so uh, hmmm...no one else is going to call this chap out, then I will.
I find your lack of discretion disgusting and I believe that you should take better care to exercise proper decorum in the future. Plastering your personal banking statements especially given the rather large numbers involved (but even if there was nothing in there) HAS NO PLACE in this thread and only serves your desire to engage in LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME attention whoring bullshit.
This of course is my personal opinion, but please ask yourself WHAT purpose does posting this serve other then attention whoring?
None.

The specs on those speakers look like shit though at that price.
Also...47Hz- 37Khz!?! Thats absolutely shitty and will sound rather...bad, lacking all the important (bass) frequencies...would be like using inner ear headphones...
"Bell foundry" technique is just like any other moulding technique...might as well use sand casting.
You are mistaken.
I can show you a system that actually does 20 Hz to 20KHz, I can then cut from 45Hz down completely off. Unless you listen to riding durty rap shit with below 40Hz sound, you will not be able to tell the difference. Most 'bass music, even rap, has very few notes below 35-40Hz and almost NO pop music does.
Now, ask yourself one more question: If someone spends millions on front speakers alone, what makes you think they won't have a freaking awesome sub setup as well?

Can someone please explain the point of speakers going above 37kHz (e.g. kHz) unless they are a present for your dog?
And only down to 47Hz? For that money I would expect a sub for that price.
Damn edit!
