Im a big fan of Dirt 2 and Dirt 3 i was happy that this title has more of a Action/Arcade quality to it. Im running 3 7970s in Tri-Fire and i selected the Dirt 3 profile and ran the game at max settings and was getting insane Frame Rates that never dropped below 140Fps. Cant wait to pick it up.

hrmm everyone on Steam forums hates it. I'll have to try it myself.

Screw Dirt, bring back Colin McRae Rally. I hate the way the Dirt 3 went all "social media".

I fucking *love* demolition derby

Is the damage modelling and physics as good as it's been hyped up to be? I haven't played a decent demolition derby game on PC since Destruction Derby.

Man! I forgot all about DD. I had countless hours of fun in that one. :D

I don't think I got the same demo as the OP.

all I get is a super small figure 8 with unlimited nitrous oxide.

I fucking *hate* Gymkhana...

THANK YOU!!! i swear to god i thought i was the only one that hated that shit. worst friggin part of the game in my opinion. also the wow look at that time you just upload it on youtube, um how about NO!!!

i played Demolition Derby on the n64 i think it was years ago, that was friggin awesome. but i have to say the best Demolition derby destruction/physics wise was Grid. that game was a ton of fun and enjoyed completely destroying my car and everyone else in the game :D

Good point. Grid had some pretty excellent demolition derby events.

yes yes yes, fuck that Gymkhana shit. oh man fucking SICK JUMPS MAN 5000 POINTS FUCK YEA as my car literally goes a pathetic 6 inches off the ground.

this is the proper way to play Dirt / Grid

edit: ok.

health bars on cars? cars that have the weight of foam? you can literally slam head on with someone at 60 mph and there is no spectacular crash, you just kinda completely negate their force and start pushing them backwards.

this shit is dumb.

I agree with both of these. Constantly hearing about YouTube is annoying as fuck. And being forced to do the Gymkhana events was enough to make me stop playing the single-player entirely. I'll play Dirt 3 for multiplayer races, but if I want to play by myself I'd rather play Dirt 2 (which still is pretty annoying sometimes). Such a shame, because the actual rally races are pretty damn fun, especially with a G27.

Hmmm....... codemasters......
So guaranteed to drive me insane menu interface and unskipable prompts with awful voice overs.
Sadly, I'm going to have to pass.

So, fired up the demo... right from the start it was annoying. The option for YouTube credentials on the very first screen in the game is a bad sign. The interface actually manages to be worse than the previous two Dirt titles, something I would have never thought possible. I figured if the game plays all right though, I could overlook it. Get into a race, CTD before the countdown to start the race even finishes. Try again, CTD again. Uninstall.

I miss the Rallisport Challenge series, especially the 2nd one. :(

Destruction Derby 1 & 2 are some of my all time favorites. Explains why I drive the way I do...but gonna check this out today

And remember the game Rallycross on PS1? That was awesome

Am a huge fan of Destruction Derby on the ps1. I'll probably check it out. If its not too "broish" like dirt 3 was

I fuck'n hope so you're running $1500 of video cards... I hope you're at least gaming above 1080p...

See, I dont get what they dont understand, especially since its a RACING game.
I want to launch the application and in 3 clicks be in a race, not wallow through unskippable cutscenes with horrible voice acting, ridiculous amount of prompts asking me if im sure I want to do what I just told it to do, and who can forget the reloading of everything just to restart a race....

Codemasters is a oxymoron.

come on, you know you like looking at your car and all the sponsor stickers on it every time you don't get first place and want to restart.

This shit looks fun. Downloaded the demo and will try it out this weekend. For you guys that want a sim, it's hard to do. Instead of being somewhat accurate, you have to have your shit down to a t. And to do that you have to do a lot, and I mean a lot, of work. I do wish they had a sim with more up to date graphics, but sadly I have to settle for Richard Burns and real life.
