Battlefield 3 General Discussion Thread

I'm going to make a pledge right now: I will not ever use the tactical light attachment. It's annoying to me so I don't want to annoy others.

Once my back quits hurting enough for me to get out of the bed and play a few more rounds, I'm going to try out a home made flashlight strobe effect with my nostromo.

If I can find the stupid thing that is.

Me and three friends are trying to play but we are all getting stuck on "matchmaking."

Is this beta even working right now?

This is what a cheater looks like

Flashlights piss me off enough that I just unload on any of them pointed at me, friend or foe.

I did that on accident in a FF server, and then proceeded to revive/TK him a few more times and then rage quit.

It was evil, but fun...:p

Does anyone have any details on the audio engine used in Frostbite 2.0? It's so sick. I'd love to dig into a read regarding that.

If i remember right they made their own that uses the CPU well. Look on google for stuff about the BC2 engine and i think it is the same.

I remember a pretty decent read on BF3 audio a few months ago. You could try checking the older BF blogs. I think that's where I saw it. If I remember it was a bunch of technical jargon that just went over my head so I skimmed over really.

Here's another obvious one. Different guy than before.

Holy shit I played against that wanker today. I have actually been sifting through servers and observing hackers/cheaters gathering proof through screenshots of there antics and promptly reporting them to EA.

When the final version is released I am going to try to push for a sticky on battlelog forums posting the profiles of known violators and exposing them to the public at large. I have already done this with a few cheaters already on various posts on the forums. I'm sure this will be rectified in a more efficient and official manner however. As you can surmise I get a thrill from shutting there shit down. As any dignified player with a penchant for fairness should.

Hopefully EA/DICE have been gathering this information internally so that they can do a massive purge before it's released. And I mean MASSIVE! :D

Whats the real point though? These type of hackers again are really obvious, and unless the server you play on in retail basically has no admins, they will be kicked/banned. Banning the account isn't actually any real punishment at this point since you can make a new beta account whenever you want. Don't expect people to use serious accounts.

The real problem and the real cheaters are those who do it in a way so it isn't obvious. Most people who cheat in a blatant way aren't actually looking for an advantage, they just want to disrupt the game. You won't think these players are good or anything since it is obvious they are being assisted. The subtle cheaters are the ones that actually cheat, wanting you think they are playing legitimately. But you can never conclusively detect these even with spectating.

Anyone with stats better than this guy's?

I'd assume lots? Even not counting the people with the blatantly non legit accounts with millions of kills.

There was a guy the other day, "Bullet_Kisser" is his moniker as I recall that was disguised as a team mate when in fact he was on the other team. Complete subterfuge. If it was a bug he sure as hell was using it to his advantage. The model/skin was a friendly, however the nametag was still red and he could be spotted as an enemy. People just got fed up and abandoned the game, or more to the point, him.

I was asking if anyone here personally had better stats. Do you honestly think I was asking if anyone in the world had better stats than that guy?
