I never did say the game was bad based on my experience from the alpha. I have concerns and criticism and I voiced them. People can read and agree or disagree with my views for themselves; they're entitled to that so long as it doesn't involve trolling (go outside :rolleyes:).

What I didn't post was that after playing the alpha I also pre-ordered. ;)

What's crazy is the other guys that are saying DICE is making this game for the mindless console retards just because it's not super hardcore.
 
Doesnt look like you have to install origin with the store bought version. I wonder if ordering the "physical" copy on the origin store (To get all the origin bonus' / limited edition) will be the same way.

I have ARMA. I also have all the BF games. Too many noobs can't handle recoil on guns in games. It's why COD is popular. Gun damages should be based upon factual information, not what the gun looks like and what some dumb foreign programmer thinks it is based off of movies.

I can respect that there are different approaches to shooters. Some military shooters are hyper realistic (ARMA, Operation Flashpoint etc) and those are awesome and fun too the people that think they are awesome and fun. And for others, getting hit by one bullet and dieing over and over is lame, and they want to play a military shooter that is very UN-realistic. Personally my preference is for hyper realism. But BF2 is my first love and i feel BF2 and COD4 brought too the table something new, a balance between fun, and realism. IF they were to make one shot guns like most are in real life, they know their players would just lay in the back of the map (camping) and kill from there. I dont think ALL shooters should be a certain way, but i admit i kinda look down on the CODMW players. The difference is i dont look down on the ones that play cause its fun, and try to have fun. I look down on the ones that take it SUPER seriously, like because they play COD they know guns, know tactics, cause they can quick scope hella good they are "winning". People like that (which COD attracts) i look down on.
 
With the Alpha an Beta players, is it ranked? If so will it reset on the actual release?
 
Yeah, it was ranked. However, when you were killed, it failed to show the player's rank/level.

And I'm sure player progress will be reset when they start the Closed Beta, not sure what they'll do about the Open Beta though.

Things will definitely be reset between the Closed Beta and release.
 
The 25% off email for registering with ea gun club comes 24 hours after you register and it does work for BF3, I got it for $45.
 
I read they made it no longer work on bf3... when did you order? I just placed one at full price but will try to get the code applied once it shows if it still works. That, or cancel and rebuy.

Is this true? Can I get BF3 beta access by pre-ordering BF3 from Origin?

And it's true. You get:

Open Beta for Battlefield 3 (Origin Exclusive)

Players who pre-order the game from Origin will be granted early access to the Open Beta for Battlefield 3 when it goes live in September 2011.

You could just wait to see whether beta codes are distributed by other means. The BC2 beta was meant to be for people who pre-ordered, but yet every man and his dog was able to score an invite.
 
I could have... but after getting in on the Alpha I really don't want to miss out on the beta.

So I ordered digital download on Origin.

(And I have ~180 games on steam...)
 
This is tempting. What's EA Origin's policies on redownloading/installing a game? Isn't it something weird like you can only do it so many times a year or something...? Or am I mistaken.

Some people have to admit, Steam would never give a deal like this on a new game.
EA will have better deals handling their own games, some may not like how they handle them but you'll save and get more for your money, no doubt.

We could prolly get in EA support chat and get one but I guess I'm lazy.

Still not sure how I want to buy BF3. Steam would be a no-brainer for me but with Origin out I'm sure it'll be a cold day in hell before we see BF3 show up on Steam. I sorta want a physical copy mostly because I realized that all my BF games are on disc except for BC2. But in the end I'll prolly settle with Origin's digital copy. Anyone know more about buying a physical copy off Origin?
 
I already had a EA Gun Club login, I logged in and saw nothing about a 25% off coupon for BF3 so I created a new gmail account and signup up to EA Gun Club using that.

So far no 25% email yet, but it's only been 30 minutes. I will let you guys know if I get the 25% email.

This means that after the initial releases are filled which means launch day buyers, pre-order pick-ups, etc ,the game will be available on the Steam download service. The representative didn't go into details regarding how long this period would be, but EA has worked out multiple deals with every other digital distribution channel to secure launch day availability. If you must have it on Steam, and you don't mind waiting, it appears that you may be in luck.

Pay attention to the part I pasted fromt he article. Who here isn't going to pre order this game and calls themselves a BF fan? Who here is NOT going to want to play this the second we can possibly do so ON DAY 1 of launch? Who here is such a steam fanboy that they just can't bear to buy the any game any other way that they would cut off their nose to spite their face? Steam is nice but it doesn't dictate my wallet or how/where/when I buy or play games. Getting the game after it launches does me no good. Pass.

Edit: I just want to say if Steam were to have it much cheaper than anyone else then they may have something. If not then LOL whatever too late.
 
This day 1 dlc is bullshit. Just include it in the fucking game to begin with.
