1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
This build will be primarly used for gaming
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
My budget is ~1300 but less would be nice and tax and S/H is included
3) Where do you live?
southern GA, USA
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.
Case, PSU, CPU, RAM, GPU, hard drive, DVD-ROM, Monitor
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
I will be only reusing a mouse and keyboard
6) Will you be overclocking?
Undetermined at this time, only if it is necessary to get the best out of my machine
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
I prefer to have a 24" monitor but no less than a 22"
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
I wish to buy as soon as possible but am willing to wait on better deals or newer hardware
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
SLI or Crossfire support depending on which GPU I will be using. RAID for future expansion and a decent amount of USB ports
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?
I have a legit version of Windows 7 64-bit professional available for me through my school

I have this build in mind already but not too sure if this is the best bang for my buck so far
Case: Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX mid Tower
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-750HX
Motherboard: ASUS P7P55D LGA 1156 Intel P55
CPU: Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66 GHZ
Memory: OCZ Obsidian 4GB DDR3 1600
Hard drive: Western Digital Caviar 1TB
GPU: EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX
Monitor: ASUS VW246H 24" HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor

Any feedback and suggestions will be greatly appreciate

Make these following changes and your planned build will be better:
- This RAM will provide the same performance but with lower voltage:
$85 - G.Skill Ripjaw Series F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL 2 x 2GB DDR3 1600 RAM

- You can get the significantly faster HD 5770 for not that much more:
$165 - XFX HD-577X-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770 1GB PCI-E Video Card

- The Coolermaster RC-690 Case is roomier, has better cable management, and is cheaper:
$70 - Cooler Master RC-690-KKN1-GP ATX Case

- This Samsung drive is significantly faster than the WD 1TB Black drive:
$90 - Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

other than that, id keep everything as it is. i wouldnt downgrade to an 9800gtx or anything, go up man! :D

Is this for you, or for the OP?

I agree with all of what Danny said and I would go with a Gigabyte motherboard to get the Lotes retention bracket instead.

I agree with Danny's changes. If you want to OC, pickup a CM Hyper 212+ CPU HSF:
$30 - Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-GP 120mm HSF

I'm guessing to avoid a Foxconn socket/bracket? Thought everyone switched to AMP or Lotes already?

Thanks guys, I went with the build I had but changed out the graphics card and the case to the ones recommend it. Can't wait until I get a new machine built

aww too late then... i was going to suggest a 5870 GPU. Man you're spending 1300 on a gaming rig, the most expensive piece of hardware you get has just got to be the GPU or monitor.
At the least a 5850, and then crossfire them in the future.

really? i spent 1400 just recently and have practically the exact same build.

i5
same asus mobo
750W TX though
gskill 4gb 1600
1tb F3 spinpoint
his hd5870
corsair h50
dell 24in (189 dollars a great deal)

Sorry I missed your post! But I was trying my best to not make this build as expensive as possible but I believe this one will make due! I might consider a new GPU eventually.

@kvndai Yeah 189$ for a 24" is really nice. I'm spending 331$ on a 25.5" that has a built in HDTV tuner. A litle pricey but I talked myself into it, I'm really looking forward to gaming in 1920x1200

@evahrybrid It looks like you can crossfire two 5770s with that board, so maybe not a huge loss. Although most ppl will say it doesn't matter at regular resolutions, you only have to look at the benchmarks to see what a difference it makes. i.e. playing in high vs. very high details; 30fps vs. 45fps etc...
