When 24" and larger monitors started to reach reasonable prices.
Agreed you can get a 24" for under $250 easily. 20" is the new 15".
I knew 24" monitors had come down but I've never seen any that cheap. What 24" monitor can be had for $250?
The Sceptre and Soyo 24's can be found every once and awhile for around that price. Newegg & Officemax have had a few deals.
I won't buy anything Soyo. I am still mad at them for their crappy motherboards and a very crappy flash drive I got from them back in the day. I've never used anything by Sceptre but what I hear about their products is hit or miss.
Yea, I completely understand. You get what you pay for. I had 2 of the Sceptre 24's and they weren't bad. But I finally got my Dell 3007WFP-HC and I'll never ever EVER go back.
Hey Frraksurred, I am quite confident a 750W PSU will hold these die shrink cards over quite nicely. Unless you specifically know otherwise. That said I will look around for some reviews and such and I will post what I find.
...but it blew away my bank account as well lol.
Graphic cards will improve of course, but future will games ask more of them.
Anyone know how to set the resolution to 2560x1600 in Crysis WARHEAD? The highest resolution I can choose is 1792x1344....
Cant wait till I join you people but waiting until a decent graphic proper 30 incher hits the market that doesnt cost as much as the GDP of a small country and is ips not pva.......wish samsung takes over the IPS panel....
Most of the displays I have had are S-IPS displays (including my 3007WFP) and as such I can't handle most of the cheaper LCD monitors. TN panels make me cringe.
I thought that the first time I fired it up to. Just pan down further, it's there.
I tried that but still cant see any higher resolutions. I tried using the scroll wheel on the mouse and the arrow keeys but still nothing.
TF2 isn't really all that demanding.
Thanx, it worked when I dragged the box. Actually never thought about dragging it, just scrolled and used the up and down arrows. To get here I had to click on the drop box, then drag the blue box to the bottom of the list. If your list ends before this point I can only assume you have some corrupted files, Windows is not correctly recognizing your monitor or some thing is awry with the drivers.

So I just bought a SyncMaster 305T 30" widescreen monitor and a GTX 260 last week and Ive been having a blast playing all my games (old and new)! Gaming at 2560 x 1600 is simply amazing! It may cost an arm and leg to join the 30" club but its money well spent. My question to the rest of you guys is what graphics card are you using with your 30 monitors? I spent several hours debating which graphics card to get and ended up getting the 260. I was afraid it wouldnt have enough juice to play all my games (and future games) at the massive native resolution of 2560 x 1600. Well I couldnt be more happier. With the GTX 260 I'm able to play all my games at very high in-game settings at the native resolution, with the exception of Crysis (plays great and runs smooth on medium settings). I'm also able to crank up AA/AF in many of the games I play but certainly not all. Overall I'm very happy with the 305T and GTX 260. They are both remarkable products. The games Im currently playing are COD4, HL2 series, Stalker series, UT3, and Crysis series.
So what are you guys using any what are your experiences?
I have a Dell 3007WFP-HC It awesome with tri sli 3x GTX 280's
