Yeah, it's almost been converted from the clean desktop thread to the fancy decked out desktop thread, haha. Not that it's a bad thing, even the ones I've posted probably wouldn't always be considered "clean", but yeah, originally the thread was probably more meant for people with minimal to no icons and very simple wallpapers basically, haha.

Demografik-> If You've added the stacks docklet, you right click->icon settings-> then find the icon you want.
 
What programs do you all use to theme your os's? I have XP and don't want to spend any money but I want to change the theme... Is there a way to do this?

Rocketdock with the stacks docklet and reflections icons and yahoo widgets. You might also want to try wincustomize.com

Yeah, you don't really need to use any programs to change the theme. There are programs out there of course, but I just do it without any of them. Here's a good writeup that should give you enough info on how to do it. If you have any questions after feel free to ask, and someone around here will be able to help.
 
Here's my new dt. Followed suit with the whole text icon thing.
wallpaper are stock ones that come with the newest HP laptops that I photocropped the HP insignias out of. Ignore the white line around the sides, that's a artifact from mspaint resizing.... ftl.

I agree with this idea. It would most likely be much better and more organized in here if people were to list what they're using to get their desktop the way it is.
