Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

Just looked it up. Might have to give it a try... Believe it or not but I never tried an online game, but holds promise.

Thanks for the tip.

It is easily the most realistic sim available on the market today. It is run entirely by 3 programmers, runs in dx8 (and looks GREAT using such dated technology), and has the most real to life tire physics in a simulator ever. It's not too big in the united states, but there are plenty of professional LFS races around the world-it is taken very, very seriously.

Definitely give it a go-the demo is completely free and only restricts your car and track choices. You can get a good feel for the game by playing the demo online-the netcode is brilliant for a racing game. Patch X just added 32 car grids to every track, and trust me-32 car online racing is very, very fun.

LFS rocks with the g25, by the way.

seriously hhookk who gives a damn? its fine if you wanna be [H]ardcore patriotic but dont try to force your ideology on everyone else. a true patriot would understand there is such thing as freedom of speech and expression. go toot your tune to people who care.

Obviously I give a damn. I'm not trying to force anything on anyone dipshit. I simply pointed out an honest mistake that lots of people make. I seriously doubt he's got the flag hanging in his room backwards as a protest.

A true patriot would know the correct way to hang the flag. Thats all.

Sorry to be off topic here. If anyone wants to discuss this further please pm me instead of posting so we can keep the thread on topic.

Your American flag is hanging backwards. The star field is supposed to be in the top left corner, even when it is hanging like you have it. Please change it.Thanks.

Good catch

Very nice setup Speedy, What racing games do you play? And do you use The side to moniters for driving? and if so, How do you have them setup.

BMWlover, I managed to make GTR2 run on the 3 monitors!!!!

I found this software called SoftTH that allows the main card to render an 4960x1600 on my 1st GPU.

Then it cuts and pastes the left and right parts of the image to the 2nd GPU and display all three images across the 3 monitors. It is amazing and it is free!!!!

Take a look at my kid playing at full 4960x1600 resolution.

BTW, I still have to tweak the config files to align the side panels, but we are having too much fun playing to mess around for now. :)

Wow. I can see why too!!!! You have amazing components!!! how old are you?

I am 42, and this is my 1st gaming computer ever. prior to this i only had a laptop from work for the last 10 years. i did not not touch a real keayboard and mouse for 8 years, busting my u know what on the road working.

Mind you, if i was your dad, i'd flip too but because I would be jealous of the awsome rig you have in your sig.

BTW, my last desktop I had was when I went to University. It was an PC clone, with an Intel 80286 with 650K of memory, and then I spent $100 ugrading the system to 1Meg of RAM total!!

Damn!!! I sound like my father!!!

Get ready for a shock then. Every 12 year old on this website has a quad core and 83 graphics cards.

Speedy...

Do you mind if I ask what graphics card you are running to render at such a high resolution and still maintain good fps for games?

by the way.. incredible setup! I want it...

You mean 25, right? Otherwise you're 15 with a kid...

I think he meant to say "I wish you were my dad". It would correlate with his buying of pc parts and his dad flipping out on him about it.

It is an evga 8800GTX OCed to 635/1000. The side monitors are running a XFX 7600GT XXX stock, but they are not doing any "3D work".

But remember, GTR2 is much easier on the GPUs than the more recent (poorly coded?) games. Right now, my bottle neck is the E4300 CPU. I am putting $s away to get a penryn upgrade later on.

Here is my complete setup (yes I do use it as a Digital Audio Workstation):
Dell 3007WFP-HC + 2 x Dell 2007FPs
Intel C2D E4300 @ 3.0 ghz
EVGA 680i SLI (A1)
EVGA 8800GTX @ 625/1000
XFX 7600GT XXX @ 590/800
Logitech G25
Ultra Gladiator Case
Corsair TWINX 2048Mb PC6400 DDR800
WD/CaviarSE16/500GB/7200
Cooler Master Hyper TX Intel 775
M-Audio Black Box
Fender Deluxe Reverb
Godin xtsa

Please explain how you can afford all that expensive gear? im 15 and can barely support my car and my girlfriend.

heh, when i was twelve i had a athlon 3700+, a BFG 7800gtx (at the time a 600$ card that i won in a CS:S tournament)(granted that 7800gtx is faster than your 8600gts : P ), keyboard and mouse, and a hard drive to my name, The rest of the system was my brothers parts.

Now i still have that 7800gtx, but have an AM2 x2 4000+ (one of the first off the line bought through the now extinct monarch computer) Crucial ballistix tracer 1066, DFI lanparty, and other varied components in my sig. And im still behind the times processor and graphics wise, I cant keep up with the technological jumps.

Zip ties were used everywhere possible. They are a big advantage. Ive tried all sorts of tapes to try and get the cables to stay put and finally found that 3M Double Sided Heavy Duty Outdoors sticky tape is the best stuff for the job. Make sure not to get the 3M double sided FOAM tape. This is NOT GOOD and dries out and is very hard to get off the surface since it just crumbles. Gorilla Tape, Duct Tape, Packaging Tape, Electrical Tape...they all failed and fatigued after X amount of time. Zip ties and the 3M tape is your best bet. Also, its helpful to secure one main cable that you know will not be moved or changed out for a good, long while if ever so you can then attach and secure other cables to that main cable. Power strips are helpful too as they provide a shelf to hold up other cables. You can see that I threaded the zip ties through the holes in the legs of the Ikea Jerker. This was very beneficial to my cable management and allowed me to easily run the cables up and down the legs securely without being seen.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to PM me and I will answer them to my best knowledge. Thanks!

wow nice tidy up on the wires. It doesn't even look like theres any wires from the front! :D
