its not really all that. for $20.....i wouldnt buy it. for free....id play it once in a while. theres nothing really special about it in my opinion. the only thing that makes it "unique" is the sixaxis and personally i think its nothing more than a gimmick at this point. the sensitivity of it really isn't to my liking. a friend of mine got in the beta too and pretty much said the same thing.

now for a ps3 owner with nothing else to play its probably the cat's meow. but for anyone else with any other console or handheld, my personal opinion is its highly forgettable.

Here's my mini review:

Graphics:
Not bad, but nothing special. Havent experienced any frame rate issues or weird visual bugs so no real complaint there

Audio:
Nothing to write home about. Pretty much like your average game

Controls:
Could use some work. The controls are inverted by default so the first few minutes of gameplay was awkward until i changed the control schemes. Driving the jeep is pretty fun and seems very responsive using the analog sticks. The sixaxis seems gimicky. Response time just isn't fast enough to suit me. Playing my friends wii was a lot better in comparison. Flying the jet with the sixaxis was frustrating so i just used the analog sticks (which worked really well).

Gameplay:
It was just kinda boring. There's some cool weapons like the flame thrower and a missile that you can guide from your plane once launched either using the sixaxis or analog sticks. i was never able to hit anyone with it, but it was still cool. But overall, there was nothing really special about it. The closest thing I can compare it too is Battlefield for the 360 since gameplay is similar. Battlefield was a lot more fun to me. The game never had any lag, but I dropped my connection a few times. I always heard how reliable PSN is when it comes to that, but evidently it has the same issues (the 360 just has em a lot more often). homing onto someone for the first time and shooting them down was fun, but after a while the game was pretty "meh"

Issues:
Sometimes the game freezes your system and you have to power cycle to get use ur ps3 again. Kinda reminds me of the 360...thats next gen for ya. Also while playing for some reason i was invincible. i couldn't die no matter if i get hit with a sniper rifle, run over by a tank, or jumped off the side of a cliff into the water (at which point i started walking on the water). the bad apart that is i couldnt kill anyone either and i couldnt pick up weapons or enter vehicles. but its a beta so what you expect.

Conclusion:
The game really isn't the type of thing thats gonna help the PS3 get out of its slump. Honestly if it wasn't for movies, I'd be pissed if I bought a PS3 and this is what I get in return.

This is just 1 person's opinion but right now the PS3 really sucks. Hopefully E3 will restore some of my faith and Q4 will make me a believer again.

Mortal Kombat II, Calling All Cars, Blast Factor, not sure what else is playable online atm.

I was playing Armored Core 4 months before it ever showed up in the states. Same with Gundam: Musou (which still has yet to show up in the states). Been contemplating whether I should wait for the US release of Minna no Golf 5 (Hot Shots Golf 5).
