Conroes in stock @ newegg

Those prices are crazy, instead of selling computer parts, they should sell whatever they are smoking, they will make more money in long run.

they will probly leave that "mistake" jus to see what cornballs would actually buy it at that price...i'm pretty sure out of the 1000's of ppl tht go to the site a couple of ppl have bought it...although they probly lost more than several times the amount of potential buyers given the right price

sad thing is people will still buy them

all about supply and demand. demand is up you pillage the common folk

Correct me if I am wrong but i seem to remember talk of no inflated prices when these conroe's shipped. Course it is very early but anyone that thought this is now thinking twice, huh.

well some people said yes and some people said no

i knew it was going up so i put in preorders to secure lower price. id rather save $100 bucks and wait a little longer.

you can always just refrence the old threads to see who was saying they would be everywhere

zipzoomfly has the 6300 in stock still for almost half the price.

Maybe if they gave a free motherboard and overnight shipping they "might" sell, markup is understandable, but on the low end cpu's, and that high of a %.. give me a break.

wow. and to think I was going to get my 6600 from the egg (thank god tfor TD). What a bloody crock of shit. I understand supply and demand and i'm a die hard capitalist, but that's just irresponsible. Gouging a bit on the 6600 and the 6700 would make more sense as those are the hard to come by chips. But the 63s and the 64s that aren't too hard to find? gimme a break.

dammit, you beat me to it, ZZF 219 w/ free shipping.

It's simple.

There are a number of price categories, please allow me to explain.

stealing - free

smoking deal - pretty damn cheap

good price - you don't mind at all

fair price - you can live with it

pricey - you know it can be found cheaper elsewhere

wtf - no thanks

rape - newegg ( where our lovely conroe e6300 falls under )

There, you have my modern day price category guide.

No way man, we don't have a clue and know nothing about how business' are ran. Yup, Newegg is really being fair and the good guys. To show our love we should rush out and buy from them.

No one expects Newegg to to sell at cost=P Yet no one expects 100% mark-ups either LOL! Folks trying to say this is OK, is full of it! As one guy already said, they should sale what they've been smokin' and I'll add or whatever in the hell they've been drinking. That's some gooooood stuff they're on.

I'm thinking it's more along the lines of a congenital problem than a chemical problem.

Yup!

Remember that thread from last week about when will Newegg get Conroe? Think those guys rushed and bought them there?

I seem to remember you being one in the "full availability" crowd for a while. Good thing you changed your tune last month. :D. Or maybe I'm mistaken and just had too many "chemicals"

This is why I don't blindly use any one particular vendor. A couple years ago I used to buy all my parts from Newegg and always felt secure in doing so. Lately though, I use Newegg less and less. I've found plenty of good deals at ZZF, ClubIT and many other places that put certain Newegg prices to shame. Then when I see this I'm very glad I shop around...

Yup that's me. That's what I get for listening to Intel Employees and NOT just the ones posting here. I quoted Paul Otellini as saying there'd be plenty on or near the launch date. I'f I'm wrong, I'll come clean and post just that, no BS!

Yeah, I was in the "Who fucking cares, I'll buy when I have money again." crowd Seeing that I won't have the money for a new motherboard, ram, OS, and CPU until at the very soonest December, I was safe in that crowd.

lets just hope the other vendors dont raise their prices up since the giant "newegg" is doing so.

Newegg is a great store. you just cant expect to get a cutting edge processor from them for a good price like zipzoomfly.

Wow, I'm really impressed at the amount of crying and whining in here. Were you people honestly expecting no markup on prices? Hello, we've only been talking for weeks about how Intel is only shipping 50 of each to the vendors. Basic economics, supply and demand. High demand + low supply = high price!

If it bothers you THAT much, then email them, don't buy from them, but enough of acting like you have a god-given "right" to a lower price. Yes, they are marking up the prices a ridiculous amount, but I've got news for you, they probably will sell every single processor within a day. So if they can sell their entire inventory at a high price, why not do it? They'd be stupid to not maximize their profits.

However, if this price hike has lost them lots and lots of customers, well then it was a bad decision. Newegg probably just took a calculated risk and figured that the customers they lose because of this price hike won't be detrimental to their profits.

Why not, they're constantly boasting how they're always working closely with manufacturers to get the lowest prices possible and pass them on to their customers. It really shows here, now doesn't it?

where did anyone say only 50 to each vendor, in all the flamefests I've read through lately I'lve never seen that one.

No - people were not expecting rape level markup. A markup to make a small profit is understandable. An extreme markup to bend over loyal customers is bad business. Furthermore, who's been talking about how Intel is only shipping 50 of each? Somone who has a brother's uncle's girlfriend who knows the janitor at Microcenter? Someone who can pull FUD out of their gluteous maximus? I can spew crap about any company I want and pretend that I know, but that doesn't make it any more true.

First of all, save your breath and next time you have a thought, let it go.

Second, we are bitching because we have that God-given right. These chips can be found almost everywhere for $100+ less than they are selling them, a lot of people just trust Newegg for CS and fast reliable shipping. Recently they've price gouged horribly (here and with the 7900gtx fiasco) and switched to UPS as being their main carrier (horrible idea).

The E6300 can be found at ZZF for $219 with free shipping and the E6400 can be found at ewiz for $265. There are still many other places we have criticized for price gouging that are still a good $50+ cheaper than Newegg.

Selling chips for $100-$200 more than they can be found elsewhere is not markup, it's highway robbery.

this is a huge black mark and it does show a huge lack of disrespect to their loyal customers and new customers alike.

Agreed. I've spent a about $10k with Newegg the past few years.

My last big purchase 7900GTX was from Monarch, b/c of availability.

I had been buying from Newegg out of loyalty (goodwill) from their good service, even if the prices were a few dollars more, BUT this little stunt is like a slap in the face and will surely lose them A LOT of the goodwill that took years to earn.

I acutally found the switch to UPS a good thing for me. FedEx always gives me problems.

My system is sitting here waiting for a processor.

I think I'll downgrade to a 6400 (planned on 6600+) until about April of next year. I'll then save up for a better video card.

I've come to like both where I live, maybe I'm lucky?

First off, this isn't price gouging. Price gouging is pricing above the market when no alternative retailer is available. In this case there are SEVERAL alternative retailers available.

Again, no one is forcing you to buy from them or hand over your money. As someone who has been mugged, there's a big difference.
