DFI's New SLI Mobo

looks like they are sticking with the jumpers for sli mode. very interesting they are coming out with a b version.

Maybe it fixes or does away with the 4V Dimm voltage that they were having problems with?

Yeah, I can't see a 12V P4 connector, or a 5V Molex connector on there anywhere. Looks like TCCD/5 could be getting a sales boost....:D

"4 extra sata connectors"

cause god knows we need 19 places to plug our hard drives into.

:D

the new board is going to have a totally re-designed power regulation system.

maybe that will fix the rather weird psu problems.

lastly they might get a few less RMA's with an improved MB layout.with the new MB.

they are coming out with a brand new line of Mobos. the OCparty. basically take a lanparty, strip it off its beauty, and add the BEST OF THE BEST in components, best mosfet cooling, best northbridge cooling, best everything that works awesome. and viola OCparty.

And when will this come out?

What are those PCIE slots in between the x16 video card ones? They look like maybe an x2 and an x4?

There's an 8pin connector right above (from our perspective) the 24pin connector, it's black. As for the molex, you don't need it when you have an 8pin connector. The floppy connector is still there too, btw (top left of the RAM slots from our perspective). The >3.2V RAM problems ARE fixed and you don't need JP17 to access it in BIOS. Supposedly the VTT problems will also be fixed...I'll only buy it if it is.

BTW, the layout and specs are exactly the same as DFI's Crossfire board, just the chipset area is for NF4 (not the dual 16x version though). Obviously the chipset is also NF4.

the black 8 pin power connector:

does that mean it needs a new power supply?

i dont have an 8pin plug on my PSU :(

Yeah, shame on them for making new products. I'm sure we'd all be happier if the industry was still turning out 8086 boxes.

No, it should be compatible with 4pin connectors + a molex (they should provide the adapter).

If I'm not mistaken, a 4pin will be able to just plug in to the 4 pins that it fits into and it still should work (like how the current board doesn't NEED the molex), but don't try running SLI without all 8pins in use. This is similar to the 24/20pin problem with OCing....it'll run, but it will run better with an 8pin (or 4 + molex, I think).

ROFLMAO!!!! I love when people are sarcastic on these forums...its the best

You'd think they would move re-arrange the chipset & cooler for more video card clearance. Go figure

It is better....not that the current SLI-DR has a problem.

The board is real, I have seen posts on DFI-Street mentioning a new SLI board with a layout identical to DFI's new Crossfire board.

Damn, I probably would have waited for one of these too, as I'm planning on upgrading to dual core eventually.

How well do the old lanparty NF4s cope with X2s?

They should work just fine if you use a 7xx BIOS. Too bad those are still in beta.
