Okay, now this is *really* bugging me. The game works flawlessly, at every resolution. The catch: all features have to be OFF. Turn even one of them on, even lower ones (w the exception of headlights, fog, the other fog), and you get the same effect.

Well, tried what you said, Czar, and to no avail. It just rebooted (because, evidently, the windows-installed drive is the 2nd logical partition on the drive)... then I went to work for a few hours, got back, and restored boot.ini to what it was before.
All that LILO and Grub do is replace...
