I just picked up a Gigabyte GTX 970 and it uses a 6-pin and an 8-pin for power. My PSU is a Thermaltake W0070 430 watt. It has dual 12V rails. Both PCI-E connections are 6-pin though.
I used the dual 4-pin molex connector to connect the 8-pin power. I was wondering if I should be going...
My processor is an i5 3570K @ 3.4Ghz. It is unlocked and I will overclock it at some point in the future. There is 16GB of RAM and the motherboard is an Asus P8Z77-V. I have a few Samsung 840 SSDs in it and the PSU is a few years old but I want t say that it is 600 watt.
I haven't played...
I impulse bought a 750 Ti and didn't do my homework. I've been reading that it is pretty under powered. Before installing it I was considering returning it an getting a 760 and I see that there is a 760 with 4GB of RAM as well. I don't remember what I bought when I built my system, but it...
So you don't think the settings that I listed contributed to the untimely death of my other motherboard? It ran at those settings for about a year, then Thursday it decided it was time.
I just bought this board to replace my P35 that just died. I had my Q6600 (9, 333, 2.4 @ 3ghz). I had that 800mhz Crucial stuff in it that required 2.0v instead of the standard 1.8v.
I have two questions, would that slight overclock cause the motherboard to die? I was thinking that I...
I haven't been keeping up with things. Can anyone recommend a good OC motherboard to replace this? I don't want to buy any new hardware other than the mobo. I currently have a Q6600 in it and DDR2 800mhz memory. I don't need RAID. Are there any better chipsets out there now?
Thanks, that is the forum that I have gotten most of my info from. I didn't search for Firefox though because I have gotten a lot of good information from this site. I figured it had something to do with small writes but thought someone would know off hand. I'll go back and take a look.
I just installed Vista 64 to a single OCZSSD2-1SLD60G. All system drivers are up to date, indexing is off, superfetch off, prefetch off, system restore off, and search off.
When I use tabs in firefox there is sometimes these 3 second freezes where I can't click anything in there or go back...
Not sure what you mean about the 12v Rail?
Just an update, I set everything back to standard speed settings and even hooked up my 1280 x 1024 LCD to see if it was just a problem with that resolution but I am getting the same problems.
My overclock on the Q6600 is very conservative (only 3 Ghz with a Zalman 9700). Just as everyone suggested, my next step was going to be putting the CPU back to stock settings.
I did think about the PSU thing a bit before but never pursued it much. I have the supply listed below (click the...
I recently upgraded from a 7600 GS to the 8800GTX. I installed World in Conflict and it is choppy as hell. Much choppier than all the videos on youtube show gameplay to be. I'm running out of ideas as to what can be the problem. Anyone know of weird incompatibilities with the...
I just got a Q6600 and have my Zalman 9700 attached. I have PC2-6400 RAM in the computer. I'm not looking for a huge overclock, I just want to hit 2.8 -3.0 GHz.
I'm just unsure of what the best way to try and hit it is. Should I back the multiplier down to 7, SPD of 2, and FSB 400...
