This driver release broke custom resolutions for me. I had the option of adding 800x600 (@75Hz) and 1024x768 (@75Hz) with the previous 195.62 drivers. Now I'm stuck with 60Hz on 800x600 and 70Hz on 1024x768.

To fix stuttering just turn off multi-core rendering in video options. Had the same problem, turned it off, no more stuttering for me, zombie frag fest continues.
Being a 1.6 player like yourself, I would have to say the following: TF2, BF2, DOD:S, COD4. CS:S ain't bad, but it definitely is not at the same level of 1.6. I would rank the games I listed over CS:S any day.
