What a beast, hope I'll get lucky.

This driver release broke custom resolutions for me. I had the option of adding 800x600 (@75Hz) and 1024x768 (@75Hz) with the previous 195.62 drivers. Now I'm stuck with 60Hz on 800x600 and 70Hz on 1024x768.

To fix stuttering just turn off multi-core rendering in video options. Had the same problem, turned it off, no more stuttering for me, zombie frag fest continues.

Being a 1.6 player like yourself, I would have to say the following: TF2, BF2, DOD:S, COD4. CS:S ain't bad, but it definitely is not at the same level of 1.6. I would rank the games I listed over CS:S any day.

As long as you have the reslution set to 720p in the system settings, you are good to go. There is no external switch for HDMI connections; the component connection does though.

Actually a refresh rate of 75hz improves mouse movement speed. Playing at 60hz feels choppy.

Vista still has problems forcing a specified refresh rate in games, sorry but 60 hz is garbage (for gaming). Just get xp and use an msstyle patcher and make it look like vista or use windowblinds 6.

I would also have to say the 320mb 8800gts is good enough for that resolution. However, with all the new DX10 games coming out, video memory usage numbers could change dramatically. Getting a 640mb gts would be a smart move (and a safe one too).

I know for a fact that a blue orb could fit in this case, and it's heatsink is 66mm which is around 2.6 inches. I would say the maximum should be less than 70mm.
