Just bought a Gbyte GA-MA770-DS3 mobo, a phenom 9550 and 4 stick of 1GB kingston hyperX pc6400 memory.

Well, i've got some small issues with the Kingston HyperX 2GB pc6400 ram kits that i bought.
These rams should run at DDR 800mhz but my new motherboard is detecting them at DDR...
Oh and btw, forgot to mention, i am looking at the amd phenom 9500 quad cpu but if a dual core would give me the same performance at a lower price point then i would rather save the money.

yes, i agree with proper calibration, however my video card settings are at default and upon direct comparison with my fren's dell e208wfp, i find that the blacks produced by it is much "truer" compared to the blacks produced by my 2407-hc.
