Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I hope it's not a sign of QC. I don't know why the thing failed. Worked like a charm for a day and then wouldn't come back on after I had powered it down while I was away at work. The PSU smelled faintly, like something was burned, but I don't think there were any power surges, lightning...
I've just returned my second dead 420 W Enermax. The first had a fan fail, the second ran for a day then failed to come on at all after I turned it off for the night. Since it's baseball season, I'm going to try a third, before I call it quits. Fortunately, Newegg does returns, but I'm...
Again, thanks for the tips. I think I'll just RMA it since it's been less than 30 days from purchase at NewEgg. Call me a wimp, but my wife will be pissed if I electrocute myself!
Thanks for the advice. I tried turning the 9 cm fan with and it is definitely sluggish compared to the 8 cm output fan. It moves, but not freely like the other fan. Should I try to RMA the sucker, or is their a simple fix that I can do?
I have an EG425P-VE SFMA power supply and I noticed last night that the 9 cm fan (the fan that pulls air into the psu) was not turning. The 8 cm fan does spin and the psu is delivering power to the system. Is this normal? The case temperature was about 37C. I know the fans are temperature...
I have the ECS KN1 board. The first one I ordered from Newegg was DOA, but the second one works fine. The package is decent, includes all the cables including SATA you'd ever need. There are also a bunch of USB and IEEE 1394 connections on board. I haven't been able to get the Nvidia gigabyte...
I second the beer, although you may want to use this tool at the end of the project. As another link noted a flashlight is handy. Here are two illustrated guides that I found very helpful:

Building isn't too hard, here is a good site with nice pictures on building a comparable AMD 939 PC.

I had a basically the exact same problem with an ECS KN1 board. Fans and lights came on but no video signal. I tried a PCI-e card and a PCI card. Finally I took it to a computer shop and they tested the board and the cpu, it turned out the mb was DOA. So you might have to get a new one. I was...
Spectre -- by blue storm do you mean this one:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-104-934&depa=0
The specs seem output, in terms of amps, similar to the 400w Fortron.
