Thanks guys. Then im going to try my video card in my second comp and see if it acts weird too. I'm not sure what the problem is yet, might be a bad vid card...
or maybe its just vista (haha)
vid card is bad... :(
I have this video card
[ EVGA 320-P2-N815-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB]
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130038
and i bought the
[ OCZ GameXStream OCZ600GXSSLI ATX12V 600W]
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817341001
Specs...
x86
and i have the latest and greatest drivers.
I ran aida32 and under the directx video it says onboard memory is 291200
that sounds right. so windows is just reporting something else.
either the ocz GameXStream 600w isn't doing its job or im having some other issue like the video card or...
I'm not sure if I have a defective card or not, but according to vista, under display settings -> advanced settings I have:
Total available graphics memory: 1023
Dedicated Video Memory: 256
System video memory: 0
Shared System Memory: 767
Now isn't is suppose to say 320 for dedicated video...
DO NOT USE THE PSU THAT COMES WITH THE QPACK.
I Also had the 420 watt one, I bought my Qpack about 3 months ago. It lasted about 25 days then died, however my system was a 3.4 pentium with a 7800gtx, so I was pushing the 420.
I now use the antec neopower.
Yeah try to find the online manual or a spec list of the items inside, then get the drivers individually.
find out who made the motherboard and then go to that manuf website and dl the drivers etc.
go with a asus microatx mobo. go 939, get a opteron. 148 or 150 if your a gamer.
you wont be able to oc good, unless you get a dfi board, or gigabyte, or the new winfast motherboards (whatever they are called can't remember)
Hmmm!. Yeah I've heard of winfast, but I've had a winfast mb go bad on me about 4 years ago.
Looks like they got prime at 265. so at 11X265 would be 2915.
Well I've never heard of foxconn, and I don't feel like swinging it there.
I can wait a little longer see if anyone figures out if it's a good board or not.
Yeah, and im on a budget, so I will go with the 148.
But don't take too long, AMD is going to stop the lower opterons because people are figuring out they are basicly low clocked fx chips.
So eventually the price is going to start to skyrocket, and you won't be able to buy them.
I'm...
X-Qpack.
?? asus MB(Micro atx that can OC good)
Opteron 148 OC'd to 2.8ghz w/ Zalman 7000 (will that fit?)
Asus GF7800GTX
Liteon DVD
NeoPower 480
Hitachi or samsun 300gb sata Or smaller drives with raid 0
Is anyone running a system like this? Can I get a Asus MB that is Microatx that...
So far everything I have read says you can OC on just AIR, as long as your cpu/hs is good, plus you have good airflow.
Right now Newegg has 148s 939 2.2ghz for $229 oem or $249 retail
And when you oc is to 2.8, it's as good as a fx-57 ($1000 chip)
Depending on your core and mb, ive seen...
I know, weird. I was planning on purchasing a opty 148 from newegg tomorrow, then decided on a mb... wtf.
I mean wouldn't a 148 @ 2.8ghz dominate almost anything?
