    MSI P6N SLI-FI / Platinum (650i) Thread

Sorry Fang and lockstock (for not responding), I spent a few days replacing brakes and shocks on my truck, fixing a neighbor's blown/burnt battery & cables in her Honda, and had to get a computer project done by today. But, since ya'll posted here at [H]ard P6NSLI, I know you got good help...

    Gigabyte GA-N650I-DS4 Problem-Question

I might add that you need at least one stick of RAM installed to get anywhere, so wait till you get it. If you are experienced, you ordered RAM that can start at 1.8- 1.9V. If not, use memory from another computer if, you have one. Do not install more than one (1). Cuts down on parts that can...

    Gigabyte GA-N650I-DS4 Problem-Question

DrHan - Here's a link to a handy gif: "http://global.msi.com.tw/images/boot1.gif" It is from MSI, but the protocol is the same. Pretty much standard troubleshooting. It is important to remove all components and start over, checking the condition of all pin connectors as you reinstall...

    MSI P6N SLI-FI / Platinum (650i) Thread

My fellow Countryman, (heh! sry, couldn't help it.) If you've read through this thread you've probably picked up the fact that most all CPUs can easily attain 1333FSB (or there-abouts; re: 4000 series) on these P6Ns. Stable and within reasonable temperatures as well! I never...

    New system, power problem.

I have a Truepower 430 and MSI P6N Platinum. The mobo has an eight pin power connector, like yours, near the CPU socket. However, it only requires that the ATX12v 4-pin power (CPU) connector be plugged in. My mobo has a cover over four of the eight pin sockets, so which side to plug the...

    Test Posts?

Thanks spidermonkey! I was afraid if I just 'Back'ed out of a post it might post what was entered. If there is an escape icon, I overlooked it. Forgive me, I'm getting to be a FOG. Tony

    Test Posts?

Hello guys - what a great asset! [H]ardForum is the youknow! I was wondering if there is a place to try out formatting and such for posts, where it wouldn't attract critics? Would it be here in the 'Help' forum? Is there a way to post to the last page? ;) Thanks for any response and...

    MSI P6N SLI-FI / Platinum (650i) Thread

Welcome lockstock! You might start by downloading a few utilities that are helpful: CoreTemp 0.95.0.0, 3/28/2007 1:03 PM, , "http://www.thecoolest.zerobrains.com/CoreTemp/" SpeedFan 4.32.0.169, 2/28/2007 11:08 PM, Alfredo Almico, "http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php" PCWizard 2007...

    MSI P6N SLI-FI / Platinum (650i) Thread

Hey Edge - I hope you don't mind, but I put your sig in a post at the MSI forum as reference to settings for an OC over 375FSB on our boards using an E6300. I did credit you and the thread here at 'P6N Central'. I also quoted it (nothing changed), to clearly differentiate it from original...

    Motherboards you recommend?

From the reviews I've read that compare performance across a wide range of current mobos, the P5N32-E SLI Plus was the best performing board with the MSI P6N SLI Platinum coming 2nd, especially, as you say, stock and stable. Most all of the reviews credit the MSI board as the fastest stock board...

    which 650i board?

If the eVGA board you refer to is their 122-CK-NF66-T1, then it doesn't meet your IDE/PATA nor SLI requirements. Only one each PATA and PCIex16 slots. I like my MSI P6N SLI Platinum, though I might have opted for the Gygabyte board if it had been out back when.. Buena suerte! TonyB. I...

ASUS STriker Extreme no signal input if GPU in the third PCI-E slot

The 6th section - Next section- Source: your "User's Manual"! Straight as I can give it. Does somebody cut your meat for you, too?

ASUS STriker Extreme no signal input if GPU in the third PCI-E slot

Sorry! IAW = "In accordance with..." Everything I've read indicates boards with multiple graphics card slots restrict non-SLI operation to one PCIe or PCI/VGA slot. Don't know much about it though. Even less about x-fire. TB

    these temps ok?

It's impossible to know without knowing your room temperature. Also, there are subjective differences in heatsinks/cooling solutions and what is normal for each. "30s low 40s" is icy cold if you're in the Mojave desert in an un-air conditioned car. TB
