    ACER Aspire Boot hang.

My wife's Aspire's OS crashed the other day and after reformatting and upgrading to W7, it is repeating the same issue. Hangs on the windows loading screen. Tried switching HDDs and reinstalling, reformatting and trying again with no change. We've had it for around 3 years and I've upgraded...

    asus g73 problems

I'm not great with troubleshooting but I'll put my 2 cents in. Try checking the bios settings and make sure its trying to boot from the correct device but it sounds like you have a bad HDD. Did yours come with two HDD's? if so tell it to boot from the non-OS drive, should give you a no-OS...

NewEgg: The New Asus G73-A1 for $1429

I picked up the A1 back in April for $1650 but up until last weekend wasnt able to really test it as I was finishing up a tour to Iraq. It has, however, handled every game I've thrown at it. From Modern Warfare 2, Dawn of War II, Dragon Age and soon I am going to try Crysis. I almost went...

    Best $2k Gaming Laptop

Aright, some sweet reviews, now its just a matter of upgrades if any (then finding one). With it already having 8GB of 1066MHz memory, what kind of gain would i expect to see from going to 8GB of 1333MHz? For around $250 more i could make this change but i doubt i will. The stock memory...

    Best $2k Gaming Laptop

Sounds like bang for the buck, the G73JH has it. As for the running hot, I already picked up a high-end cooling pad so that should help a bit. Now I'm wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade the CPU from the 720QM to the 820QM. For $550+ for the 820QM it doesnt appear to be a worth...

    Best $2k Gaming Laptop

Yeah, 5870 is what i meant, typo. Well thats awsome to know. I've been hearing ATI getting trashed on their performance vs Nvidia lately. though i'm betting most of the guys here are a bit out of the loop with new gear. As far as battery life... i dont think i would ever expect a high-end...

    Best $2k Gaming Laptop

it seems a lot like the M15x underperforms to the G73, but to get the Alienware logo brings the tag up to $1900+ What about the Sagers? Heard the name a few times and they apear to have a decent to good line up of gaming rigs. Which is better:: the Radeon 5970? or the Nvidia GTX 260M? and...

    Best $2k Gaming Laptop

I'm in the market for a new gaming laptop for under $2k. So far I like the ASUS G73JH-A1. Good price, reviews, specs. I'm looking for any other rig that can compete with it or beat it for the same price range($1600 would leave me some extra cash for upgrades and accessories). I'm looking...

strange power up. bad PSU or case Switch?

well I RMAed the mobo and the report was that the VCore was bad, so I'm guessing that the surge fried that. I got the new board and its up and running so no damage to anything else. guess I'm lucky I was still in the warrenty period.

strange power up. bad PSU or case Switch?

well, pulled everything out of the case, reassembled with only i ram stick, cpu fan, 5200FX vid card, and no HDD. same resuld, so im pretty sure its mobo. as far as where in the mobo, i have no idea, or how to check. im going to try another psu just to be completely sure. how would i go...

strange power up. bad PSU or case Switch?

ok i've checked the system panel connectors and no visable signs of damage or shorting. Im checking all of the molex pins, male and female, so far no damage there either. i disconnected the case switch and booted with the same result so I'm pretty sure that is not the issue.
