My wife's Aspire's OS crashed the other day and after reformatting and upgrading to W7, it is repeating the same issue. Hangs on the windows loading screen. Tried switching HDDs and reinstalling, reformatting and trying again with no change. We've had it for around 3 years and I've upgraded from 2 to 4G of memory and changed from vista 32 to win7 64. ran vista 64 ult like a champ for almost 2 years.
This is a last ditch effort to salvage it since around 6 months ago my daughter spilled a glass of iced tea on the keyboard. Never had any problems after that and pulled the whole thing apart and cleaned it out. Ran fine until now. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

okay, well start with this.

is the HDD you swapped out a new drive? have you ran DFT or a drive test on the hard drive?

run memtest with all the ram in... if it fails then remove all but one stick and try again.

reset the bios to default.

Remove the battery and the bios battery for 4-8 hours and try again.

You could take it apart and see if there is any damage from the water spill
