Business is tough for just about every industry and will continue to be for at least the next 4 years. Having just built an FX6300 system, I know that this will be my last desktop CPU, in the future it will be an APU. The AMD brand won't die, even if they are bought out.

Heat was my only issue and why I went with the 6300, I'm sure those 8 cores generate alot of heat and since my workstation is in my bedroom, I didn't want to have so many fans that my computer sounds like a vaccum cleaner. AMD needs to work on power consumption and heat.

AMD is doing well on mainstream desktops, APU's sales are only going up. AMD also has deals with all 3 console makers for their next gen systems. Future sales are not in 1K computers but 400 dollar systems, mobile and low power server.

Is 48C - 50C bad for 100% full load CPU Temps?

The 6300 and Radeon 7700 combo is a winner, not to mention that i'm only running a Corsair 430 Watt PS.

Total Build cost from Newegg was 684.87, that includes ALL new hardware and an OEM copy of Windows 8.

For most people and even for most gamers the AMD FX CPU's are more than enough, especially at their pricepoints. I just ordered my new build with an FX 6300, this will prob be my last pure CPU, by next gen both Intel and AMD will have gotten serious about APU's.
