just a quick update.. i ended up trying the T220.. same issue.. dead pix and talk about BLB.. funny thing is when i went in the next day to return it... the stores so called computer experts told me and i quote "oh thats not a dead pixel.... i can't wipe it off.. but its not a dead pixel...

i also thought about this being the problem and pulled the HSF and checked the thermal square on the HS it looked ok and i made sure it was locked in place.. is there a easy way to tell if it is not making good contact to the CPU? maybe a different thermal paste would help? i mean its not...
