i was looking into stepping up a little i don't play that many games but when i do it is mostly FPS ( COD2, BIA 1 & 2, F.E.A.R. ect...)

i was looking at a geforce 7950 (256mb) but i am unsure if my PSU will give it enough juice.. or would i need to upgrade it also? my wifes on board video on her board took a dump so i figured id upgrade my card and give her the x800 since she really just needs something to get by with and only uses office and surfs the net..

i am open for suggestions also... i just don't want to spend much more then $200 at the moment since i will be building a new gaming system early next year..

id second the x1950, awesome bang for the buck.

x1950 pro can be had for $140-160 and perform almost as good as the 7950, $160-180 will net you an x1950XT and thats better than both of the other cards.

I agree with the X1950XT as well. I had one and used it for about 6 months and it was a very nice card. Played FEAR at 1680x1050 nice and smooth and did a decent job with Oblivion at that resolution as well. If you're interested in buying used, send me a PM. I just took it out yesterday and replaced it with a 8800GTS 640MB card. If not, NBD, just thought I'd mention it... :D
