I have been having the same issue. So far the only fix I have came up with is to run a VM of XP pro with my tools installed on it.

I have both the logitech 2.1 and the klipsch 2.1 and the logitechs are way better and can out perform the klipsch any day...

I use the Logitech MX700 mouse and it has worked great on any FPS I have ever played.

Have you tried looking around sourceforge.net they have a ton of good open source apps.

Do your users have access to the internet and if so have you checked for spyware and adware. Also have you defraged and done all other maintenance.

You can change any and all drive letters, but the system drive or your system wont boot on the next restart. Good Luck :)
