Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thanks for the quick reply. I've installed the default X-Fi drivers a few times, changed the various modes on the cards, and still the drivers won't install. My only guess was that it was an OEM card of some type, and maybe someone on the boards new of a quick solution besides calling tech...
Has anyone been able to install the latest Soundblaster X-Fi drivers to their VM machines? I believe I have a Soundblaster X-Fi Extreme Music card. However, when I try installing the latest drivers from Soundblaster.com, the new drivers complain they can not find a valid piece of hardware. A...
I don't think it is fair to put VM on a pedastal in comparison with Alienware, or other companies. VM is more then willing to immediately charge the credit card and take payment, and should be responsible. While Alienware may be horrible, it doesn't mean VM should get off the hook for being...
Just a quick reply, maybe I'll try to add more of a review later.
Currently, the VM computer is able to run 3dmark06 overnight without crashing. Noise levels are down, though still pretty loud (still can't hear the 7900GT running during graphics intensive apps).
Apparently the new...
Chris - If I had any doubts about this I would have tried to return the computer a long time ago. :) I have nothing but respect for your support. I am just frustrated and paranoid at this point because what UPS did to the first machine, and then when other parts were knocked off the second...
I don't think Kodak cameras usually are reviewed well. Dual lenses may be great, until you realize that neither of them work nearly as well as something you'd get from a Nikon, Sony, or Canon.
I'll also suggest the iPod. I've loved the ones I have had. The support of third parties is great, as is the support for formats like Audible consistently. The Nike+ running integration for the iPod Nano currently has my hooked.
A lot of the other devices don't have anywhere the same...
No, it isn't overclocked. The Core 2 is pretty fast on its own for me, I don't think I need extra now, especially for what appears a pretty small gain. VM has sent me more emails. I'm just really sick of UPS at this point.
VM definitely has great service. I just wish UPS didn't cause issues.
I haven't phoned back as I have expected to hear from Chris or Heather from VM. We exchanged emails Friday and this weekend. I have not heard, so I will have to call.
Right now though, I wouldn't recommend the new cooling system to anyone, unless people really want to overclock. Even then...
Thanks for the link DrBeer, but I believe that is the older system VM used, not the newer thermal electric system that I have. This is what is in it now:
I wonder if its a bad UPS delivery area or not. FedEx has always been better to me, but VM uses UPS. I forgot to mention that VM did UPS overnight the machine to me when I was really unhappy I'd lose another weekend. I'm still waiting on the window to the case as well (a temporary panel is...
Velocity Micro Second Try - Mixed
I received my second Velocity Micro computer today, after the first got damaged. Here is a thread about that:

Thank you, I'll look into these. I'm definitely concerned the system has some stability issues. I did play Dawn of War and Empires at War for about an hour each without issues. Of course, those games won't really stress a computer like a Crysis eventually will, or possibly Oblivion.
I'm curious what people use to test and burn in new computers? I have 3dmark06, but right now the computer is having problems with it (computer resets after about an hour of looping). What else is there? I purchased 3dmark05, but apparently the professional version will not allow for looping...
Hey Benjamin - Does your system run 3dmark successfully overnight w/out resets? I'm assuming if a system doesn't run 3dmark2006 overnight, then there are problems? Did you have to do any tinkering to get it to work? Thanks.
