Hi Does anyone know any guides how to connect an Ubuntu server to Open Directory? I like the Ubuntu server to be able to use the OD users for services, like file-sharing. I find a lot on Ubutnu to AD connection, but so far nothing good on Ubuntu to OD.

Hi all :) Im looking into this again. FreeNAS8 don't seems to have an iSCSI initiator. Can ZFSGuru be used as an iSCSI initiator? I like to connect my Synology box over iSCSI to an central filserver. Maybe I just should use an normal Ubuntu Server install instead.

No one? What Im trying to do is bridged site-to-site over OpenVPN. I need the clients on the vpn-client side to get IP from the DHCP server on LAN on the VPN server side.

Hi :) I trying to config 2 pfsense alix boxes for OpenVPN but are kinda stuck. What I try to do is to bridge the LAN, so that clients on the VPN client side gets IP from an DHCP server that i have on the VPN Server LAN side. I have tried many guides that I have found, but still nothing...

Hi all :) Im in a kinda possision now that I dont know if I want to continue with OI or something else after the ZFSGuru "disappeared" :( Im looking at the Synology DS1511+ and it has all what I need an more. Well, its an different platform, but right now I need an storage device that works...

Tried to install OI on my i3 fileserver. Came to the boot menu and then it dident get any longer. I used an USB stick with the USB image on, maybe something went wrong.... Gona get an dvd and an dvd-rom for the server and try that :)

MasterCATZ: Youre ATom is only 32bit I guess? The long error comes then you try to install an 64bit system on an 32bit cpu. ZFSGuru use 64bit mode only.

On the side; any of you know about an mini-itx mobo with 5-6SATA connectors?

Oki, I got it installed, but I cant get it to work. My client dont find the iSCSI targets whatever I do. Maybe one of you can give me an guide howto setup iSCSI on OI right? :)

Yust testet OI +Napp-it on VirtualBox. Works fine, but I miss iSCSI :( On the + sides; Easy to get AFP to work (I use OSX as cliets), easy to install. Ones I find my powercord to the Drobo, I wil test bouth this and FN8 on my hardware. But offcause, I realy realy hope ZFSGuru wil be...

barbz: If Im not wrong, FreeNAS use an light version of FreeBSD, and ZFSGuru use the full package, so maybe somthing differ there. danswartz: I tried to install OI on VirtualBox, but I came to an promt I dident understood anything of then I booted from the image...:confused:

hmmm. I think this is related to VM drives somehow, gona test on my server once I find my powercord to my Drobo so I can take backup of it, hehe :)
