Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Harro, long time lurker here (previous account got deleted).
I am writing today about the current evolution of the "For Sale" section. 3-4 years ago it was great but now it's become a huge mess. This is a PC forum and yet, every other ad in the "For Sale" section is for an iPhone or Galaxy...
Sticking your monitor into an oven takes serious balls :D.
Sigh, after not using my desktop for several months, I powered it up only to see artifacts all over the boot screen. Time to give this a shot tomorrow!
Picked up this system last week:
i7 930
Asus P6T V2 Deluxe
12GB Corsair XMS3
3 x 1TB Hard Drives
Pioneer Blu Ray Writer
Corsair TX750W
Antec 902
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit Disk and CoA
All for $400. Sold everything except for 2 hard drives and blu ray writer for quite a hefty profit.
Picking...
Hey guys, I'm currently looking for a smaller laptop (screen size <13.3") and have fallen upon the Inspiron Duo. I know that this is more of a netbook than a laptop but I like the idea of being able to use the computer as a touch screen. Do any [h]members have one and if you do, can you share...
LUCKY! Haha, how did your brother find the card? Dumpster diving?
I'll be doing this to my 7800GT soon. Hopefully it'll work so that I have a video card to use in my ultimate budget build.
Hey guys, I just picked up some memory off of CL and the guy advertised it as working in regular desktop motherboards. Since I was in a hurry, I didn't have time to verify this by doing a quick search (DOH!). Once I got home, I tried installing them into the empty banks on my Asus P5E X38 but...
Just got back from picking up the card. Might be picking up a few other things from him as well. He has parts all over the place. He showed me his machine which is running an i7 980X Extreme, 2 5970s in CF, and 12 GBs of DDR3 memory. He also showed me one of the 5 or so i7-950s on his desk...
Yeah, after reading reviews and such, I've found that the GTX 285 is a remasked GTX 280 with a smaller die so I'll be sticking with the GTX 280. This is going to be a budget system anyways (just happened to spend a little more than I wanted on the video card but hopefully that can be offset when...
I can afford to lose $160 but I rather not if I can avoid it. The seller seems like a pretty cool dude and he gets his shipments straight from the manufacturer. He told me that he ordered around 20 of the GTX 280s when they first came out and the one he's selling me is a spare that he had lying...
Alrighty guys, thanks for the suggestions. I'm going with the GTX 280. The guy that I am picking it up from is legit and purchases computer parts in bulk for custom builds.
I'm also picking up a Corsair 850W PS from him for a very reasonable price so that should factor out any power...
The thing that worries me about the articles are the dates. I've heard that ATI has stepped up its drivers and as a result, the performance of the 5770s have increased dramatically.
I have the opportunity to purchase a used eVGA GTX 280 video card for $160, which happens to be roughly around the price of a new 5770. Which card should I go with? Btw, my motherboard only has 1 PCI-E slot and I don't upgrade very often (a.k.a. I won't be CFing/SLIing anytime soon).
Thanks for the offer. I think I'm going to wait around until I first decide on my graphics card. I've been lurking around the For Sale part of the forum and have been seeing GTX 280s for pretty cheap in which case I will be wanting to run a stronger PS.
