    P5N32-E SLI PLUS system problem/question

I am RMAing it back to Newegg. I worked on it this afternoon. I tried everything I could think of and nothing.. I can't be bothered with this any longer. Any suggestions on a replacement? Should I get the same board again? I RMA'd the memory as well. I bought some Mushkin PC2-6400...

    P5N32-E SLI PLUS system problem/question

Last night I got my new core duo system from newegg in. I got it all loaded up with windows and office. I loaded all the updates. Then I ran a Super PI to see what it could do. 30 Seconds 1m Test .. not too great but whatever. I then decided I was going to O/C the system and see what I...

Sounds like a good time to upgrade to a NF3 board. =P. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

is this ram ok for my system

Bah and what fun is that. the 3800+ is the biggest waste of money. clocking in at only at 2.4GHz. Even some of the worst winchester overclockers can get 2.4. and here is the skinny, an OC 3000+ at 2.4GHz will actually run faster than a 3800+. You can line AMDs pockets if you want to. Ill...

How high will a 3500+ Winchester go

why not buy a 3000+, save some money and OC to the same clock speed anyway?

How high will a 3500+ Winchester go

Even on water you probably coudnt get a 3500+ to 3.0. Newcastle = less Hoping for something like 2.7-2.8 on a winchester would be likely but still optimistic

Do I have to lower my latency to overclock?

also like bboynitrous said low latency does really seem to do a whole lot on amd64 systems. I havent really suffered any performance decreases. Remember cpu speed > all

Do I have to lower my latency to overclock?

at 2.4GHz on a 3200+ probably not but you will have to test the memory when you get it. At a 1:1 to ratio you are going to be running your RAM at 240Mhz. You may have to utilize a 166 divider but i seriously doubt you will have to relax latency settings.

is this ram ok for my system

oh yeah i almost forget an overclocked 3000+, just for exampe say at 300x9 2700MHz will actually be faster than a 3500 245X11 2695MHz because of a higher FSB. That said there is no reason why you could not change the 3500+ to 300x9 and have the same performance. There is no guarantee though...

is this ram ok for my system

and yeah man it will be one hell of a gaming rig. but it makes no since to buy expensive samsung TCCD ram and not buy a cheap CPU that u can overclock to the same levels as a 3500+ anyway

is this ram ok for my system

oh yeah and one more thing, since you seem to have the cash, lol. why not utilize your SLI! get dual 6800s or 6800GTs and overclock the crap out of em.

is this ram ok for my system

Yep 1 problem. do yourself a favor and save some cash. Buy a 3000+. they all seem to have the same ceiling anyway. mine get about the same clock as 3500+ and get the same benchmarks. Remember the only difference in the 3000, 3200, and 3500 is the max multiplier. 3000=9x, 3200=10x, and...

Hmm.... 4 in the removable Harddrive thingie. I love this case. thumbscrews all around. sliding motherboard tray. dual front fans, with dust filter. even the hard drive container has thumbscrews. I think it will hold about 7-8 hard drives total. I only used the front mount 3 1/2s for my...
